You are not getting the point. The question is not what percentage of CSK he owned. The question is -- was he in a position to influence others as he was involved in betting. The committee finds that he was the designated team owner.

The Mugdal report doesn't quote Dhoni verbatim. Dhoni's deposition would be recorded and hence, just listening to it can make out whether he was lying or not.

Its pretty obvious that Dhoni lied about Meiyappan's involvement in the team. Even his most die-hard fans know this fact, he did this to protect the CSK promoters!! Whether the prosecution can prove he lied or is a genuine misunderstanding is a different question. What I really want to know is whether any of the current/former Indian cricketers were involved in any form of fixing. If this is claimed and there is proof then the action must be severe. I am not interested in the politics being played by various parties here. What must be clarified is whether any match/spot fixing was done by players who have donned national colors!!

The investigationis not against India cements the Company but CSK the franchise.....Dhoni is the captain of the team....so no matter how we spin this,it's all over for MSD as a captain atleast.....He is an important player so they will not let him completely go but he wont run rampant anymore

It is worth remembering that in a 2011 interview with the Hindu Business Line, Meiyappan said the following: “Before every game, Dhoni, Fleming and I exchange our elevens at 5.45 p.m. (for the night matches).†And this: “Fleming and I spent countless hours in the lead-up to the auction. In the last three days, we conducted mock auctions, picked around 45 different combinations.†That certainly sounds like Meiyappan had a lot to do with the cricketing affairs of CSK. It suggests either Dhoni or Meiyappan was not telling the whole truth about the nature of the latter's association with the team. The facts would suggest it is Meiyappan who is telling the truth, not Dhoni.
