India needs a huge change in culture and lifestyle right from village level to achieve progress. Discrimination against lower castes, women, poor sanitation, malnutrition, lack of work ethic, corruption, overpopulation are a result of backward culture and mindset. I dont see that change happening with BJP Hindutva morons coming to power in the centre who believe their culture is better than anyone else in the world. North Indians can knock themselves out with BJP ruling over them for the next 100 years and remain as backward as Pakistan. South India never supported these goons.

The people of these tiny countries can easily be completed wiped out by the army of Pakistan or china. Unlike in a united nation, one or two terrorist incidents can completely wipe out the economy of such a small country. Also they will be heavily dependent on lots of resources from the neighbouring states. The neighbouring north Indian states will be complete hostile to these small countries, just like India is hostile to Pakistan. So they will do everything in their power to destroy these states, prevent resources from being moved, and involve in proxy wars

The very fact that we could completely eradicate polio in this country, where superstitions were rampant, and access of medicine was nil, gives me a lot of hope.

You have convinced yourself that India is making progress because of your pseudo nationalistic/patriotic mindset. Stop dreaming. None of the problems will be solved without a huge change in mindset and I dont see that happening in majority of North India. They are all neanderthals. They are ready to vote BJP back to power which is a Hindutva/conservative/orthodox type party and will take India back another 100 years.

Nope, these are the numbers released by the UN and external agencies, including reduction in poverty, diseases, improvement in sanitation, etc What happened when BJP was voted to power last time? Vajpayee proved himself not only to be a great statesman, that period was also definitely better for the coutnry than last 2 terms of congress in power
