With over 600 million people in India or 53 per cent of Indian households defecating in the open, the absence of toilets/latrines is one of the major contributors to malnutrition, a World Bank report has said. The report that released Monday on the eve of the first ever UN World Toilet Day, the World Bank said, access to improved sanitation can increase cognition among children.

And we talk of ourselves as being worthy adversaries to China.
Only fools think like that. India is way, way behind than even the most backward countries in the world.

Eh? No
Okay, continue living in denial. Just because India buys a few weapons or sends a couple of rockets into space or has IPL, doesnt make it better. The human development index and per capita of India is one of the lowest in the world. The fact of the matter is India is a sham and a failed state as much as Pakistan. Its way too overpopulated, there is very little synergy between states and resources are too low. Only solution is to give more autonomy to states or make them independent countries so they have more chance of growing. Kerala, Tamil Nadu or Maharashtra could achieve way more progress than if its part of Indian union and have to bear the brunt of unchecked immigration or having to pay for laggard states like UP, Bihar, Orissa, Rajasthan etc.

What is to prevent the same kind of issues from cropping up within these new mini countries? Why should a rich part of the new country carry the poor part? And with India's diversity you will always have ways to separate yourself from another group of people. Some mega cities might want to be like singapore.

Do you have any idea about the nonsense you spout? Why would other neighbouring countries like China, Pakistan, even tolerate these mini states? The naxalites will also easily take over these mini states in a jiffy. Just like Crimea was annexed, these states will either be annexed immediately or lie in ruins from all side. Small nation states will not be able to maintain an adequate army or air force to even come close to combating these threats. They will be completely wiped out

We have seen the price of division in Pakistan. The minority felt threatened and decided to separate from majority to have their own state. But there were always more minorities. Then shia vs Sunni divide. Punjabis vs Pakhtoon divide. Ahmedi vs rest divide. The division never ends If you want to look at differences between human beings, it will never end. You will always find a way your neighbours are different from you. And you can keep on dividing on these terms for ever. The key is to come together despite differences, not to separate. In this guy's example, lets say the South States are separated, they will soon see that some cities are more prosperous than others. So these cities will want to separate. Then in the cities some locality will be more prosperous so they will separate. Finally it will be come to every house being a different country

It will be a violation of a nation's territory and will be met with severe consequences from world powers.
