Firstly (a) Pakistani players will improve the quality of the ipl. they are better suited to asian conditions (b) There will be a spike in view ship in pakistan The downside is (a) Political parties like the sena will target teams having their players. So as a team you dont have the option potentially of playing pak players in mumbai. Thats just one place. That also means you have to pay a lot of money to boost security as even if 10% of the people want to attack the pakistani player it means that there is a serious issue. With international teams its easier to protect one venue and hotel (b) sponsors will pull out. Assuming there is a spike in view ship in pakistan at the moment , GEO i think signed a long term commitment with the IPL. So the profits of that would goto GEO . Not the franchises who picked the pakistani players. So if i am a franchise and i pick a pakistani player. I get no monetary benefit as even if GEO pays out more due to rising viewership , its shared among franchises. While the franchise picking the pakistani player assumes all the risks. © There are only 4 players who are foreign who the main teams play. So effectively I think most teams need 4*8 main 4 players and 8 as cover. International cricket does offer that depth right now. Next season the sri lankans will be back. Regarding the downside points a and b if you look at other Pak entertainers like Atif Aslam, Ali Zafar and many others they have had no such problems .. they are routinely in India performing on shows featuring in Bollywood and not only have they not run into any personal problems the events they have featured in have also not had any issues. Yes their are some hardliners in India but I have the feeling that most Indians see these individuals as entertainers and not political pawns.

Guys like Shezad and Umar Akmal are found in every gully of India. That they should be allowed in the auction and pick one player in Ajmal and rest of them can take a hike.

They have no rights to complain, because their principles are entirely grounded on anti-Indianism as opposed to any moral or ethical principles. Anyways, what principles does a board that has requested the ICC to shorten the ban on a proven fixer have? Only when the name India is invoked does the corrupt PCB remember the word dharma.

Not just the PCB but most other boards detest what the BCCI has been doing in recent times. see I am always okay for players earning money using their talents but pcb it is another story. PCB along with many Pakistanis and to some extent many Srilankans.They have no qualms following Australia or England but when it comes to BCCI they seem to have lot of issues. Both countries need to realize that they are not India and they do not have Indian economy as driving force behind them. They are better off following India than either England or Australia. Lorgat when he was with ICC seemed to suffer with same malaise, he was ready to lick ecb's boots but with BCCI who paid him and his cronies salaries he always had some axe to grind. It does not matter who is in in charge of BCCI, BCCI is the boss the early people realize that fact the better off they will be, both ECB and CA know that so they are following BCCI.

PCB is in no position to do so - they will suffer if they oppose BCCI.

Bangladesh joined on their own. If no body wants to do it India can run the show alone. Times they have changed.

I do not consider IPL as an Indian domestic league rather its a carnival of cricket with all superstars playing for Indian cities. So do you think BCCI's stance on ignoring Pakistani players is justified? Why this love for pakis?
