I am also paranoid when people say relegious laws take precendence over national interests

A chain, no matter how weak the weakest link, is still a single chain. Communalism (which every major party is responsible for) is like rust. It weakens the entire chain. Not just the weakest link ( or what you perceive to the weakest link). And then the chain breaks. The answer to communalism is never counter-communalism. It is inclusive economic development.

The links at the extremities and the fringes are the weakest. They are not as strong as those as the centre/mainstream. Plus the end of the chain is tied down to anchors and deadweghts further stretching it.They need special care/oiling etc.

Without a doubt there should be more efforts to connect them to mainstream by emphasizing on quality education and putting efforts to end the ghetto culture. After all treating 2 unequals as equals can never be right. But you know that is not done by a party and its allies that has ruled for 60 years. What is done is you wear a skull cap after riots and say this party is of poor muslim people(Akhilesh Yadav), try to give communal colors when some miscreant from minority is shot by BJP ruled states police. Try to incite fear and scare, get votes, win the election and so on.

On one hand, you are asking for special attention for Muslims while you conclude on your last point that each citizen is precious. That's the problem with people like yourself. You have become obsessed with the word secularism (today better referred as appeasement) that you have forgotten equality or actually even working hard. Muslims in India are already lucky, when you compare them with Pakistan Muslims, clearly they are much better off here. And you mentioned about gays, what does your Muslims have to say about that? Why are they oppressing their rights? Why is there such a hypocrisy?

In all the above cases blacks and gays their is oppression from one group towards others. In India their is hardly any oppression towards muslims. Talking about Hindu representation in everything this has to do more with Muslims being more conservative they still haven't assimilated in to the Indian society. The government should take steps towards Cultural assimilation of Muslims in to Indian society and reservations are not a way.

They were rulers. In no way their condition could be compared with blacks of USA. Before partition they had voice in name of Muslim league to whom 90% of muslims supported at that time. I think Blacks of should be given 2 countries from USA , where they reduce whites to minisicule minority then in the 3rd bigger white majority nation we should see the rights given to blacks

Muslims were never socially oppressed. Whereas Hindus were very much slaughtered. They have ruled India for 800 years and yet are backwards. Thus, it also doesn't mean any true sense to give any reservations to them. They really have only themselves to blame.
