CG Posted May 17, 2014 Posted May 17, 2014 Congress is still living in denial. These guys are shameless bootlickers.

EnterTheVoid Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 Asim, if you have nothing meaningful to contribute to the discussion, shut up and get lost.
ravishingravi Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Modi power, 24 hour! Asim, this is like Boko Haram talking about women's right. Surely if you can first stop the genocide of Shias, Ahmedis and Hindus first and then you can show concern for Indian Muslims who have also votes for Modi, then we can maybe consider your view point.
ravishingravi Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 Modi power, 24 hour! Im sorry but ANYwhere any innocents been killed, responsibles WhoEver they are, will b EQUALS to me, now be it Gujrat Muslims or Lahore Christians, Mumbai Indians or Karachi Pakistanis, British, Afghans or Americans, 1 innocent or 1000 innocents... I wont differentiate in my feelings for victims as well as responsible... 2ndly I am not sane enough like you guys to wait for EVERY damn thing in my country to get in order before I can start having feelings for innocent people in 200 other countries... (3rdly, u may ignore this part... Not Everything but I mean most of the stuff I put in this thread is not really what it may look like specially if u jumping randomly into it, u guys often dont get it... at tmes I feel either me alone or most of others here are too dumb, probability will go for first option ;) so no worries... I'll avoid it anyways... still extremely sorry if anything from me did hurt ur or anyone else feelings) But again you are presuming that India is equal to Pakistan. No. We are at if different stage of evolution. The vote is for development. Vote is for aspirations. Now obviously you will have those talking about religion and fear mongering about minorities. On Modi, we have justice system in our country. Country has an apex body called SC. Unlike justice Chaudhary types. It had appointed an SIT to monitor the riots case and given clean chit. That is the end of that. But here is the thing, coming from a country, where constitutionally the minority is denied rights ( I hope you are aware of your constitution ), where as a state policy terrorists have been trained to act in neighbouring countries, where a sect of Shia Muslim is on the brink, where journalists with unfavourable views are killed, I am sure no such situation is likely to come anytime in India. As I said, we might be neighbours, but we are on different footing. I don't mean to be disrespectful here. Since, you know I follow Pakistan closely and there are people I support there. So, the essential difference between us is that your constitution is compromised. And for us, the constitutional bodies are in place to prevent any excesses by govt. So, your fears for Indian Muslims in unfounded. Forgive me, if I cannot take Boko Haram's take on women's rights seriously.

I am afraid bashing or comparing with Pakistan will not end the Problems of India. Pakistan may be in very bad state, and Islamic Extremism is already out of control and destruction of Pakistan is guaranteed. But still, India is slowly following the same Path as prejudice and Hindu religious extremism is also at rise in India. The victory of BJP is not only due to Progressive efforts of Modi. No, but certainly the Hindu Religious Extremism has also played a role in it. All the extremists are other sides of the same coin. Either these are Muslim Extremists or Hindu Extremists or Christian Extremists, or Budhist Extremists etc. all of them are the enemy of humanity. If India really want to get salvation, then Secularism is the only way for this. Same is for all other countries including Pakistan.
bulbul Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 No need to worry, unlike Pakistan which contains 90% dumb & useless people, India have better people with reasonable mind so we will never become Pakistan which is shame of a country in world rightnow.

BJP is not an extremist party, irrespective of what people in some other countries believe in. Yes, it has right wing leanings but this election has been fought on governance and developmental issues rather than religious or caste based issues. Its the corruption, scams, inflation, low growth rate, lack of development, weak leadership, anti incumbency and the promise of a new leadership with emphasis on development which has seen the Congress booted out rather than anything else. The electorate in India has matured a lot in recent years and they couldn't be fooled anymore with vote bank politics. The fact that even BJP has won almost all seats in states like UP, Bihar which have high percentage of lower caste, SC, ST and minorities show that they have trusted BJP. Seats with majority Muslim population have also voted for BJP.
asterix Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 If anyone thinks that BJPs tally of seats doesn't has a considerable contribution of Muslim voters (especially young voters), he/she is living in fools paradise...
EnterTheVoid Posted May 18, 2014 Author Posted May 18, 2014 BJP didn't get elected on the Hindutva vote. If they did, please enlighten me on how Muslims voted for them?
Precambrian Posted May 18, 2014 Posted May 18, 2014 No point talking to guys who havent developed enough to understand that hindutva is a way of life, and its not the counterpart of islamic extremism. People from islamic nations and western world cannot comprehend that because their brains are hardwired with the nation of all religions of being of the same skeleton : and fail to understand hindutva represents a way of life and not religion perse. And such people fail to understand the enormous complexity and diversity of hindutva. And the culture and practises of hindus, christians and muslims in india are so intertwined over course of history. I have personally found that the customs followed by hindus in Kerala have a lot of things common with customs followed by Kerala christians as compared to customs followed by say a north indian hindu. And just like Modi, when people completely fail to give any sort of cognizance to his track record in Gujarat over last 12 years, the track record of hindus as a tolerating society is kind of completely ignored while making these ludicrous assumptions. Hindus have not only tolerated but assimilated into muslims and christianity over the last two millenia, no less. And still remains to hold its individuality which is almost paradoxically the result of its multiplicity and absence of strict guidelines, yet shaped by a common underlying culture and general body of work. Hindus didn't appear all of a sudden during Modi's rise, they were always here. Had they been so intolerant of minorities, they would have risen long back in unison and systematically driven non hindus out of India (like what happened in Pakistan and Bangladesh). Please don't mistake the tolerance factor of hindus (and Indians in general) for weakness to act. Many cultures find it difficult to understand that you can be tolerant without compromising your basic principles or identity for so long. But that's hindutva for you. Yes, there will be misguided souls everywhere, there will be imperfections, but everything needs to be judged on the whole and not based on exceptions.
