The murders, he said in the video and a 141-page manifesto detailing his reasons for the mass shooting, were in retribution for being turned down by women, and mocked by others. The man, who was identified by the police as Elliot Rodger, 22, Saturday night, died of a self-inflicted wound in the head at the end of his murderous rampage, the police said. The police described the tragedy as the work of a “mad manâ€, much like Newtown school massacre and Aurora cinema shootings. Rodger’s parents — father Peter Rodger was an assistant director on The Hunger Games crew — had reported him to the police after coming across one such rant. “Tomorrow is the day of retribution the day in which I will have my revenge against humanity,†Rodger said on a YouTube video recording titled “Elliot Rodger’s Retributionâ€. “Ever since I hit puberty, I have been forced to endure an existence of loneliness, of rejection and of unfulfilled desire. All because girls have never been attracted to me…I am 22 years old and I am still a virgin. I have never even kissed a girl. I’ll take great pleasure in slaughtering all of you. You will finally see that I am, in truth, the superior one, the true alpha male,†he said on the video. Police officers who interviewed him, acting on his parent’s complaint, have said they found him polite and courteous, and took no further action. That was on April 30. Three weeks later he began his retribution. Police found three men stabbed to death in his apartment in Isla Vista neighborhood of Santa Barbara. Ram Posted May 25, 2014 Posted May 25, 2014 50% of the blame should go on his parents - for not knowing (or) not caring to know what their son was going thru and taking corrective action. 20% blame on the corrupting influence of Hollywood, which uses movie after movie to reinforce the stereotype that college in the united states is just one big sex party and unless you sleep around with at least half a dozen partners in your 4 years there, you're a total failure. 20% blame on the gun lobby/NRA/politicos, for making it ridiculously easy for a 20 something year old to stockpile enough/guns ammunition to wipe out people living in an entire block, for no apparent reason. 10% blame on the guy itself - for not being strong enough and letting his delusions get the better of him.

I wouldn't blame the parents much here....can't stop some one from being a loser......they reported him to the police and did their duty.It is not the parents duty to get their kids laid....Most parents wouldn't report their psycho kids to the police.......

People who commit these acts are narcissistic *****s who think the world doesnt recognize how great they are and think they are God's gift to mankind. They have complete disregard for human suffering and think others should suffer for not bowing down to his awesomeness. They are complete pyschopaths. I would blame the parents because they would have pampered him to a point where he thinks he is entitled to everything. They should have locked him up at some point because one doesnt become a mass murderer overnight. He would have shown these tendencies even before and his parents didnt take strict action. I would blame the gun laws for making it easy for a 20 something year old mentally disturbed person to get access to firearms.

Dont get me wrong, the guy (and his parents) hold 100% responsibility for him going crazy, but the fact of the matter is, there are crazy people all over the world. Not all them end up in wanting to wipe out good looking girls in a sorority or have such easy access to guns and ammo to be able execute on those plans. It is quite hard being a 18,19 year old, entering college here in the US. The peer pressure to score gfs (or bfs) is sky high and hollywood does a wonderful job is entrenching this mindset, movie after, time after time.

Mom of boy is so freaked out by the behavior of her son, she goes to the extent of actually calling the cops on him. (happened last month) Cops pay him a visit and give all-clear signal, but based on what? Could they not have at least thought about checking to see if the boy has been making any recent firearm/weapons purchases? I mean, if the cops had found that he had purchased not 1, but 3 guns and enough ammo to kill 100s of people potentially, that would have sent alarm bells ringing all over the place.

You have any idea how powerful 72 virgins is to virgin guy who is about to put his virgin life in joepoardy ? Besides, its a matter of relativity too. Most desi boys are virgins till they are 21-22, a significant, if not majority of NA kids are no longer virgins after 16-17. So this guy's frustrations were palpable. But what i don't get is, if this fecker had the money to buy guns and was gonna go kill all coz women rejected his advanced and thus his BBS( Blue ball syndrome) has gone nuclear, why the feck did he die a virgin ? I can't imagine, if i was gonna go kill people for being a virgin and hating being a virgin to.....not hire a hooker before, um...going postal ?!
