Raghav_12 Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Smirti Irani is wrong choice for HRD ministry. No doubt about that. HRD ministry involves managing top universities, autonomous institutes like IIT's IIM's and so many other avenues of higher educations. Don't think if Smirti Irani would even be able to appreciate the challenges faced by these places.

Btw you know how our education system has failed us when educated people think HRD ministry's role is handling IITs and IIMs. We have educated gavaars. No less.

surajmal Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 If "education" was so important, India would be the envy of the world right now. Ek se ek bhad ke, oxbridge/harvard type congis have graced us with their presence in the govt over the years. What have they done? Politicians are there to provide leadership and impetus. Grunt work is for the bureaucrats. Most important ingredient for progress is will/spirit - in leadership as well as aam junta. Slaves and Slave owners that belong to lutyens Delhi won't understand that. Regardless, Smriti Irani is the future of the BJP, literally. Amazing, that people don't see that. (That is why retard congis are attacking her).
BeautifulGame Posted May 27, 2014 Posted May 27, 2014 Kamaraj ,Former Congress president ,was an illiterate and he did more for Education in TN than anyone else had ever done in the country. These congress men should know their history before being loud mouth idiots.

Don't know for HRD ministry, but if there was a reading comprehension test for being a member of ICF, we would not have had to bear you here.
diga Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Does the nation need to concentrate on 1% who get into IITs /IIM's or on basic education for 99%? If Smriti Irani concentrates on the basic education & doesnt interfere in IITs/IIMs , that should suffice for some time..dont you think one needs an alternate point of view while making policy decisions ?

I think you are misunderstanding whole requiremnet , PM,Ministers etc are there to lead not do the work.

Centre has very little say in that. Many centers of specialized education falls under respective ministries. For example Medical Colleges and National Law institutes would fall under Health Ministry. So dealing with autonomous institutes like IIT, IIM, IISc and other centers of higher education is a significant part of HRD ministers work, though of course not all the work. That's why all previous HRD ministers lilke Arjun Singh, MM Joshi and Kapil Sibal have been in news with respect to their relationships with these institutes. To overzealous people, there is nothing wrong in saying that BJP could easily have found a better choice as HRD ministry if Modi didn't want to keep things completely in his iron fist.
game_changerr Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 first arjun singh then kapil sibbal did bantadhaar of education system and now they are taking potshots at others
