mancalledsting Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 1. Drop Bailey- relegate this fool to the being coach/team mentor/token smiley person. Can't bat, can't bowl, can't captain- wtf was he doing dropping a winning combination for the final....he is cricket's answer to the tinker man 2. Add a genuine overseas seamer....Morne Morkel would have been perfect but he's gone to KKR... Maybe one of the Aussie bench warmers or England bowlers if they get back into form ..should get them for cheap also 3. One more quality indian batsmen needed-maybe Sanjay needs to go on another scouting mission
yoda Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yea change everything including captain cause topping the table and getting to the finals is all such BS!
Ranvir Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Maybe drop Johnson, he hasn't done much. I agree with Bailey, he was total crap.
Lord Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Bailey was threatening to cost a match all along, finally did it in finals
Ranvir Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Also drop Balaji and Awana. It's a shame the England season coincides with the IPL. Maybe time to lift the ban on the Pakis as well. Punjab could do with having someone like Ajmal or one of their seamers.
sachin34357 Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 1 good indian pace bowler is needed aswell to support sandeep
kubrickian Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 They are doing fine. They won 11 out of 14 league games and got to the final which was also a very close game. Sandeep Sharma should have played in the final. He may have got early wickets with new ball as he did throughout the tournament. He will get better at death too as he practices more.
mancalledsting Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Yea change everything including captain cause topping the table and getting to the finals is all such BS! Yeah.....Just like MS Dhoni who captained us to being the test number 1 team. Therefore it automatically necessitates that he's a a great test player and great captain
mancalledsting Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 I think what people fail to realise when they back Bailey the captain is that he was a beneficiary of freak individual performances from the likes maxwell, miller, Sehwag and Akshar. Attributing that 11 out 14 stat to him is way off the mark.
mancalledsting Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Also Bailey has been a dead weight with the bat nearly all tournament... Since he contributed hardly anything to the score board we would have even been better off fielding an extra bowler in his place
G_B_ Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 agree on bailey. the truth is that u dont know who will be in form for next season. bailey might well be in great form u never know. what kings 11 need is a back up plan. nobody should be undroppable. kings 11 imo need more depth overall. which means and indian batsman and an established foreign bowler.

True- form ultimately counts for everything...look at gayle, Rohit, Dhawan etc this season
G_B_ Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 True- form ultimately counts for everything...look at gayle' date=' Rohit, Dhawan etc this season[/quote'] i think ultimately thats why kkr won. they had a poor start but made the big calls dropping kallis.
yoda Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Yeah.....Just like MS Dhoni who captained us to being the test number 1 team. Therefore it automatically necessitates that he's a a great test player and great captain Well at that point would have been dumb to have dropped him. After 0-9 is when people were asking for him to be dumped not after we went #1.
CSK Fan Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Am I the only one who thinks Bailey gets too much flak? It is not easy keeping a team of big hitters together and Bailey has done great, mixing Indian local talent with internationals. He intentionally kept himself away from the limelight and those who think he is a dead-weight, he didn't get enough opportunity. Today, it was a brave decision to come ahead, although it didn't work
rajmarie Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 Imo once KXIP stArted experimenting once they secured their spot...they screwed up. Sandeep was a casualty of that. KKR didn't do any experiment (expect checking out cummins and vinay). Heck even CSK paid the price for too much. Wonder what should teams do next season. Make sure whole squad gets game or stick to the team that will win the cup Sent from my LG-D800 using Tapatalk
vvvslaxman Posted June 1, 2014 Posted June 1, 2014 You guys are making assumption that everyone will be in same form.
mancalledsting Posted June 1, 2014 Author Posted June 1, 2014 Well at that point would have been dumb to have dropped him. After 0-9 is when people were asking for him to be dumped not after we went #1. No it wouldn't have even dumb- it would have been the correct proactive step as glaring deficiencies in overall tactics and general cricketing acumen were already on display. These came to fruition when tested on tougher tours. Any monkey can take reactive steps. Secondly I keep hearing this Bailey didn't get opportunities nonsense...... He was the freaking captain FFS. If he's not getting opportunities as captain then when will he get opportunities
