My entire family using BSNL ever since they launched it. However, My dad's first mobile has a BPL sim in a really huge phone when I was a kid. He said that even incoming calls are charged at Rs. 5 per minute. He has this national song as a ring tone at that time.

Reliance CDMA for Calling. BSNL and Airtel for Internet. Airtel is super consistent in My area but too expensive so i use BSNL when i have to do heavy downloading. Used reliance 2G some time ago for Internet because of most data limit but the speed is pathetic.

Airtel 3G - Awesome speed. I get about 700kbps Vodafone 2G - Sometimes the internet goes to eat grass in the field and dont return for 2-3 days :((

For calling I have tried Reliance CDMA, GSM Airtel , Vodafone and Aircel. In term of price and quality for calls there is no network better than Relliance CDMA .With 92 rupees rate cutter you can get 25/30p per minute local call to any network. For 3G Reliance gsm is better in Gurgaon than airtel but very bad in Noida
