Maybe you need to stop making a call on how people are feeling. The difference between Pawar and Srini is that Pawar is Carlo Gambino operating from the shadows , Srini is John Gotti operating in the limelight. People should google these people to know how each one fared.

The problem with the mumbai lobby started when Srini decided to go ape over DY Patil hosting England against some of his academy regulars. Thats when he alienated the Mumbai cricket association. A act of his own doing not because he was from Tamil nadu. Its a difference in governing style. Pawar never micromanaged and spread the wealth and power. Srini does not even pass the salt. Nobody really hated Pawar in the BCCI (barring Dalmiya). Srini has divided the BCCI with 60% backing him 40% hating him. Thats the difference between a politician and a CEO. One governs by consensus. The other governs via command. The big question you have to ask yourself is why is somebody like Bindra who was part of the axis who supported Srini to take over now gone against him? About the fan boys. The people of mumbai always have an air of superiority in indian cricket. Because they can back their arrogance with 40 ranji championships. Tamil Nadu with their 2 ranji championships cannot. They would have pulled down srini even if he was from Bengal/Guj etc.

He remains the man from Baramati (near Pune) The only reason Pawar chose mumbai to run for entry to the BCCI is because he already had Maharashtra cricket under his control. Mumbai Maharashtra Viderbha and Baroda. Form the Marathi arc and vote together as a block n most cases.
