Becoz inspite of all the hatred we have Rohit, I have a feeling he is a natural at no 4,5. maybe now since he is a senior batsman in the side, he will improve his focus. if he still fails, kick him out but dont make him open again. he is clueless against the swinging ball and rotating strike when the fielding restrictions are still on.

He seems like a batsmen who is forced to play at each and every ball, no matter how far it is from off stump.....It's imperative in test cricket to play the ball on it's merit..... Lot of demoestic cricket will help a batsmen to develop patience .... Couple of double hunderds in deomestic circuit will push his case

He played tests mostly at home and scored a debut ton. I am not saying that he will be successful in test level but there is no harm in trying. Everyone laughed when Ganguly asked Sehwag to open for India in tests saying he is only fit for ODI's, can't leave the ball outside off stump, too aggressive to be a test player, lack on concentration etc. We all know what he did and rest is history. Test cricket has changed a lot and you need a mix of grinders and stroke players. A team must have a Pujara but also an aggressive batsman is required. BUT unless we TRY all of these are mere speculations.
