Austin 3:!6 Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Lets face it, Raina is one of our best batsman and comes after Kohli & Dhoni in ODI set up. Yes he had few technical flaws which he seems to have overcome. He is completely forgotten in test matches after his debut century. I would not be hesitant to give him another chance in test squad if Rohit Sharma continues to fail. Raina apart from his batting is a light ware on field and his off spinners are very handy. I think we missed a trick by not including him in England series squad. So what you guys think? Should Suresh Raina be given another chance in test team? Poll added :nice:

But Saurav did well (if not great) even with his drawbacks in test cricket. I think Raina can be our answer to Ganguly in no.6 I look our test line up in this way: Dhawan - replacement for Sehwag Kohli - Replacement for Sachin Pujara - Replacement for Dravid Raina - Replacement for Ganguly ???? - Replacement for VVS Unless Rohit turns very very special, I am afraid we don't have a replacement for VVS yet.
NareshK Posted June 17, 2014 Posted June 17, 2014 Let him score loads of runs in domestic cricket and then if he is sent to A tours for England, Australia or SA, he should score heavily there as well. Otherwise, no.

They can always get better and become more complete batsmen. But they should do well in FC as well as in overseas conditions like A tours or county cricket and then they could stand a chance of getting picked in test side.
