Which spinner you are talking about asswin and jadeja , they have not picked many but when playing with five bowlers you want 3 fast bowlers plus 2 spinners. Unless it is greentop how many fast bowlers you want in the team.i dont think india can win with four bowlers they just are not good enough and no batsman can bowl on this team.

Herath picked one wicket that too of liam plunkett so let us not get carried away.herath made his career on dust bowls of lanka against weak teams. Since we dont have any kallis or all rounder, asswin will be our version , 3+2 is the way to go but i doubt dhobi will do it , he is too insecure .

Herath did well in first match. Yes, he did not pick too many wickets in this match but he has kept the pressure on and SL have 4 seam options plus Herath. In our team, BK is a decent bat, is gritty and he can play the role of seam bowling alrounder.

Historically even our great batsmen have never taken any more responsibility to help out bowlers. dravid is the only guy who took that mantle but he failed because other so called great batsmen never helped him out. So i dont think a coward and useless captain like dhobi has guts to do it.

recently ashwin said he don't want to do the holding job in away tests and will be better off playing as an attacking bowler. eng does not have a batsman who can counter attack him as well. will be good for india if ashwin looks for wickets instead of trying to dry runs from one end. captain and coach have to agree though.

Srinath Zaheer Nehra. During 2003 wc. We had a world class bowling attack. Everyone of them were bowling 140 plus and basically we entered final because of our fast bowling and Sachin's batting.

That was a brilliant attack!

The period from 2004-2011 we were lucky that we had a lot of talent coming in one after the other....too bad they didn't last long enough but it was like a quick revovlving door by the time one was on a quick decline,we had some one else step up. For eg;Pathan,Balaji followed by Sreeshanth,RP Singh,Munaf,Ishant along with the presence Zak....This pool contributed to our best period along with our legendary batting line up at the peak of their careers WI,Eng,Pak,Nzl...Test victories in Aus & S.A all can be traced back to one of these bowlers stepping up......So if we pick our best fast bowling line up should be in this period but too bad apart from Zak most of them had flashes of brilliance to become ordinary to poor tundlers.

OK let me tell you this , our squad this time might be the strongest ever in terms of bowlers outside the lead bowlers, Shami can be genuine strike bowler with skills and pace, BK has improved on his shortcomings and is now a better bowler, Aaron has genuine pace and skills to match , Pankaj, Pandey are pretty good as well . I will not be surprised if the bowlers do well , but captain needs to back them, support them in field settings and not just have a mindset to stop runs which is a formula to loose test matches away from spin friendly tracks , and Dhoni doesn't get that , also we should play 4 pacers .
