He was basically berating the bookie for calling him directly, because the bookie was calling him to protest that — this is interesting — the particular spot fixing promise has not been done."

I didn't know that this guy Majeed named Ponting as well. That's the problem isn't it? Even if your name crops up you are under the clouds of suspicions.

I think spot fixing is a universal practice - players might do it to earn supplemental income, to make money for their sponsors, to return favors, etc. Only a few get caught once in a while and the world is shocked. The shock lasts a short while, then all is forgotten and it is business as usual. When the people occupying the highest levels of office in cricket are corrupt, can you expect the players to not make as much as they can in their limited shelf lives?

Anyways, one thing is that kudos to Vincent for accepting and coordinating with officials. This is not a normal procedure isn't it? We see so many banned players be in denial mode and how they sing songs of how they played the game cleanly.

It is funny that ACSU have to report to someone whose near ones were involved in betting and someone who has been banned by SC from holding BCCI post for the time being. Interesting the news also were apparently leaked to daily Mail a few days after ACSU was told to report to the chairman.

Probably the unfairness with which he was treated by NZC and the cost of supporting his family made him do this. I am disappointed but I am happy he is cooperating.

Ashes looked very fishy, how could England lose 5-0 to a weakest Australian team that too after almost winning 4-0 few months earlier. With all these revelations nothing will shock me, how else will you have all those weird things happen, one guy walking away after one test and one retiring in middle of series , they all must have got sumptuous retirement packages.

with the greatest of respect if spot fixing happened at lords in an international test it can happen anywhere. More poeple probably watch the IPL than and ashes with the time involved. They are bigger games.

last Ashes had too many weird things happening, lEngland losing 5-0 to that weak Aussie team and all other things which happened during and after that series raise series questions.

I see that but I would agree with you it would happen anywhere but the Australian Crime Commissions and stuff would be on top of that because they got some *****y football division quick smart. The Ashes would be way too hard to fix especially since the Lord's test happened with Pakistan. I get what you mean but you would think that after the Lord's test with Pakistan that all the watchdogs will be watching that. It just seems too obvious to target a big Test series. IPL is easier because it is in India, with all due respect is bloody corrupt so it is a lot easier to do it. I'm just saying it is way too difficult to try a fix a test match these days compared to an easier chance to get no named or ex-internationals for a T20 or Domestic game.

But they can spot fix. Which is exactly what happened in both the IPL and at Lords.

Yeah. Early 2000's they had developed a good team. Guys like Bond, Frnaklin(who was a very good owler then), Vettori, Cairns,Fleming and stuffs. I was a fan of Cairns as well but his name has been doing the rounds as well.
