In my opinion -- both Murali and Ajmal have abused the fact that they were cleared and started chucking more and more often and more blatantly. Because both can bowl straight and do bowl straight more often than not, it is their 20% of deliveries that do extra that should be put under the scanner.

The best solution currently and I had recommended this long long long ago. Give the powers to the 3rd umpire who is constantly monitoring the reviews of a delivery. If he feels that a ball was illegally bowled, he should go back and review it and possibly take advice from 2 other panel members to decide if it was an illegal delivery. 1) If no wicket has fallen during that delivery, play can continue and if the 3rd umpire determines it was an illegal bowl, radio the on-field umpire and he is going to warn the bowler and captain. 3 Warnings and the Bowler cannot bowl rest of the innings. Just the fact that, bowlers knows he is being monitored every single bowl, will make most bowlers bowl straight. Currently there is no check on how many balls a bowler can bowl illegally and he happily goes on chucking. 2) If a wicket has fallen, and the 3rd umpire determines the bowl might be illegal, determine that on the spot and then decide if it was legal or illegal. Recall the batsman if it was illegal. The above process in itself will get 90% of chuckers to bowl straight, and bowlers who cannot probably will be banned anyways.

Monitoring a player individually in a lab is stupid.....How about reviewing videos of the bowler under scanner especially when he has bowled more than a fair share of Doosras and Mystrey deliveries during the course of the game and picked up buckets of wickets in the process......I mean just like there is Hawkeye,etc etc,I am sure there is some kind of Video monitoring technology out ,there than can be used to judge a bowler based on this. I mean seriously measuring the action in a lab???It is like telling someone way way in advance that there will be a test to determine alcohol content in the blood stream for employment.What are the odds anyone will fail that test lol

They dont have the balls to do that but it will fix the problem.

or you can add a third offside umpire in the same line as bowlers crease to call bowling noballs for chucking, mandate every bowler to wear half sleeves...removes the whole third umpire processing time and video credibility etc..makes the field level and not tech dependent so that it can be implemented uniformly everywhere

I didn't remember seeing anyone with suspect action while watching cricket in 80s and even early 90s. Stop being crybabies when you don't have a class spinner.[/quote'] Even under new law, a lot of bowlers are crossing the limit of 15 degrees. 15 degrees is a limit which you cannot figure out with naked eyes, but if it goes more than that, you will start noticing the kink which is what Ajmal is doing. This is the reason likes of Pollock McGrath, Ambrose who were in 10-12 degree range never looked suspect because naked eye cannot decipher that and naked eye can decipher Ajmal's chuck which means he is crossing that limit.
