This issue warrants a new thread. I will open one shortly.

Our biggest problem was that our pacers did not try to use bounce as a weapon, especially against the top 6 batsmen.

Big mistake. !   Frankly speaking, I thought Bumrah was a better reader of the game conditions than he displayed in this series.

We need a couple of bounce bowlers in our pool. Like Prasidh, Tyagi and Avesh.

In low scoring games with help from pitch bouncers are generally not preferred. There was always help we bowled well somehow pitches did not become too up down like previous tours

Not talking about just bouncers ... but the bowling style of hitting the deck hard for length and back of a length balls. Get some of those balls to bounce more or rear up nastily along with seam movement.

Most of South Africa's wickets were due to extra bounce they generated.

1.6 Cummins to Rory Burns, no run, 133.7kph, late tail back in, but Burns trusts the angle to take it away, and leaves

1.5 Cummins to Rory Burns, 2 runs, 134kph, just outside off, good length, angling away. Burns brings his bat down at an angle, and outside-edges it past point

1.4 Cummins to Rory Burns, no run, length, on middle, defended back down the pitch

1.3 Cummins to Rory Burns, no run, a little bit of in-seam, off a middle-stump line to go past Burns's defence and smash him in the midriff

1.2 Cummins to Rory Burns, no run, 132.7kph, nice zip across, off a good length, and a well-judged leave

1.1 Cummins to Rory Burns, no run, 133kph, going across, on a good length, a forward pressy leave

Cummins is bowling slower than earlier years

Starc bowling quick

2.6 Starc to Rory Burns, no run, 138.4kph, outswinger, full on middle, shuffling flick to leg

2.5Starc to Rory Burns, no run, 144.7kph, misses a flick, with the ball swinging away, past the outside-edge to hit him high on the front pad. There was hardly an appeal, and tell you what, ball-tracking shows three reds

2.4 Starc to Crawley, 1 run, 143.8kph, back of a length, on middle and leg, tucked away to fine leg

2.3 Starc to Crawley, no run, 148.7kph, full, safely outside off, and Crawley sticks his front leg out and watches it through

Three slips. Gully.

2.2 Starc to Crawley, no run, 142.2kph, full, outside off. Left alone

2.1 Starc to Crawley, no run, loud LBW appeal -- full, swinging in from over the wicket, and Crawley defends down the wrong line to get pinned in front of middle. Oh, there's an inside-edge

Their mantra as always against SC sides, pakistan was tormented back in 18/19 by Olivier then

Khaleel is much better than the likes of sakariya and Arzan and should get more chances in LOIs for now.

Khaleel Ahmed has really good potential.

Tall, bouncy, gets good zip off the deck and can move the ball nowadays too.

He looks really good when he bowls 135 k to 142 k or higher.

Skiddy and quick upcoming pacers ----

Umran

Nagarkoti

Mavi

We need to combine these 2 types in our bowling pool to create the best possible effect.

I would also like to see an Ambrose/Croft/Garner type of bowler if possible, but those types are super rare. Someone who is 6'6 or above and can extract steep bounce from a length allied to solid pace (135 kph at min).

It would be nice if we find such a pacer. But do we have anyone in India now !

Prince Badiani of Mumbai is 6'6" and gets steep bounce.

Rahul Nain from Delhi, Prince Badiani, Divyanshu Singh from Mumbai, Dhanush Gowda from Karnataka,  Divij Mehra from Delhi are all 6'5" plus prospects
