Bumrah bowling lots of balls in the 142 kph to 144 kph range in his first 3 overs.

 

Hitting the bat hard with his good length balls.

 

And have tried some bouncers and a yorker.

 

But the pitch really lacks pace and bounce.

Yea nothing in it. However lahiru may have been handy too if the pitch had some pace. We should have made the pitch a bit bouncier. Guess we wanted a 4 5 day game.

This anxiety to declare in such conditions is baffling. Giving the pacers a workout on a uber flat day 2 pitch is not worth it most of the time.

Pacers may come into play if the ball starts reversing.

 

Both our quicks have attacked the stumps at pace ... and it will come in handy if there is late dip.

Shami bowling 136 k to 144 k in his 2nd spell and attacking the stumps mostly.

 

No reverse yet but Shami getting good zip off the deck from time to time.

And all of them should be rotated and kept fresh.

No better sight in cricket than to see th3s3 4 stuff operate at full intensity. India has the best most relentless pace attack especially in form. Just need too choose wisely for pitches. Not taking ptasidh for s Africa was a major blunder.

Why though? It's way hotter in India and far harder to operate at full intensity. Deathbed for fast bowlers. Tells you how good our bowlers truly are. I think he likes the sg ball. That's why.

Nasty and hostile over by Bumrah

 

..  Nasty short balls .. one injured Nissanka's fingers

.. Searing indipping yorkers at around 143 k

.. Bowled off a no ball

 

Nose and toes stuff at searing pace mixed with slower balls

 

Great to see the steep bounce that Bumrah is getting on this low deck. This wasn't happening on the bouncier tracks of SA.

 

Looks like both Bumrah and Shami have worked on getting back to their normal pace and bounce.

Bumrah 144.7 kph indipping yorker.

Bumrah traps Matthew's LBW with a 142 k ball that seamed away.

 

That ball looked quick and beat the batsman for pace.

 

Big wicket !

The range of skills that Bumrah diplays when he is bowling with intensity and full pace ... is just awesome.
