..... Ability to sustain pace while bowling throughout the day

..... Ability to move the ball both ways at pace .. big inswingers and small away goers 

.... Good indipping and quick yorker

.... Ability to bowl 6 bouncers / short balls an over without tiring, when captain goes for bouncer barrage strategy

 

 

If he can cut down the boundary balls, he will be a big bowler for India

Kuldeep Sen can't perform if he is not picked.

 

Wasn't picked for Ranji Final.

 

Wasn't picked for the Unofficial Tests. Even after Prasidh got injured, established Shardul replaced him.

 

Picked for the Unofficial ODIs and picked 3 wickets in the 1st match.

 

Dropped in the next match.

 

Picked for Irani Cup and picks 8 wickets.

There must be some overseeing by the BCCI regarding whether the India prospects are being picked in their state teams. Many countries fo this.

Nothing lucky about it.  Ganguly had identified him as a Team India prospect during the IPL.

 

Quick bowlers often need a little bit of fine tuning and then the performances start pouring in.

I was talking about the mentality of this selection committee. On potential alone he could been selected for the odi series.

 

He has more upside than Mukesh Kumar who has been selected for the odi series.

 

What is the fate of this net bowlers ie I remember Aniket Chaudhary was selected as net bowler ,than Tyagi,Umran.They are then unceremoniously dumped

I was amazed to see this too.

 

Kuldeep took wickets when no other bowler could.  Mukesh just managed 1 wicket in flat conditions.

 

Picking 8 wickets in a match is no joke.

 

Plus Kuldeep dismissed Pujara twice.

This is a rare circumstance when top pacers are not available for ODIs.

 

In such a situation who would one logically pick if performance is the sole parameter ?

 

The pacer who has performed in List A for India A recently. (  He was very economical in both the matches and picked 3 wickets in the first match )

 

Who did they pick ?

 

Mukesh Kumar who has never performed in List A and was not in the Unofficial ODIs for India A either.

 

Add to this that Team India is looking for tall bowlers with pace and a good yorker. 

 

So, there are 2 strong factors to support his inclusion even if we think from the point of view of the selectors.

This is where the challengers were good for odi selection,they could pick some players on potential and see if they can perform against the best in India,before selecting them.

 

If he was not selected even after his perfomance in IPL ,A team and Irani team , we could think about the mindset of MP selectors.

 

As a fast bowler he has all the attributes, height,pace,bouncer,yorker,ability to bowl 145 K +  but he is not even selected for his Ranji side

If they want to practice against a tall quick bowler then they should have got Tyagi snd allowed Sen to play ODIs.

Ranji state setup think autonomous of themselves

 

Anyway,pitches need to be quick to create any sort of chance for these pacers to come into reckoning and have real good stats

Note-no big swinging conditions but pace and bounce atleast in North Central Regions
