That match was killer, I think Aaron injured after 4.1 overs, but till then he was hurrying Dilshan, Tharanga and Sanga. He was bowling 144-152 and couple of boundries just flew over slips after the edge.
Umesh was in 140-148 range and was getting great movement. They were helped by Saha behind the stumps who was catching everything thrown at the wind.

Read the commentary, the writers were fired up seeing the hurricane pace by Indian pacers.

Remember that match. Was super excited to finally see 2 Indian fast bowlers bowling 145+. Sad we didn't get to see more of Umesh and Aaron together in their prime.

Hope to see Kartik Tyagi and Umran bowling together soon. That will be such a sight seeing 2 quick bowlers egging each other on and bowling quick. With Mohsin or Kuldeep Sen as the 3rd fast bowler. Imagine what a fast bowling line up that will be.

Hopefully, I think Umran clocked 157 in same match where he played alongside Tyagi. Tyagi hit 151 in the same game.

In the 1999 WC,  Shoaib's quickest was 154.x kph

He was mostly in the 138 k to 150 k mark.

The 150 k to 155 k/160 k spells happened after 2001 or thereabouts.

Yes Shoib himself mentioned that at one time his pace became constant and he was not able to push the speeds beyond a certain range.

Then he took to gyms and started working on his muscles. But he was threading even between 140-150 because of action, hyperextension and the ability to get bounce from nowhere .
