Again Bhumrah and Siraj failed to take wkts on a pitch which was v.v.helpful to the pacers. This happened in SA as well on that Fast bowler assisting pitch.

They failed to adjust their line and length and also no use of bouncers and yorkers ....

 

Do not think Eng faster bowler would have had same/similar returns on that pitch early in the morning.

 

What could be the issue here .....

There is serious dip in the performance from Siraj since the Asia cup.

Pace is way down in Red and white-ball,  he was Ind's top bowler in absence of Bhumrah and now he does not even look like a no. 3/4 bowler.

 

He is often bowling in sub 130s hopefully he is not carrying any injury, could be burnt-out or TM may have asked him to be careful till T20 WC.

Ind is virtually down to 2 pace bowler on the roster , lack of planning and support towards faster bowlers under this TM and section is enigmatic

But Bumrah has become a bit too predictable with his lengths. Needs to alter his length from time to time and use some short balls and yorkers.

That was how Jimmy got kildeep in the morning. Thay one short ball out of nowhere softened him up.

I think he hardly bowls Short ball these days...  Perhaps doesn't wants to risk injury with IPL and WT20.

But he will have bowl short balls in Australia big time.

During his 6 wicket haul in SA, Bumrah bowled lots of bouncers and rising short balls. 

 

Even earlier in this series, he did bowl lots back of a length balls that kept on rising. 

 

But in this test he has never tried to push the batters on the back foot and hence no wickets so far.

His speeds have been down for a long time now. I don’t think it’s only his fitness. I also sense some rhythm issue as he’s just lost his ability to bowl quick consistently. And on top of that, he’s probably not wanting to bowl quick anymore. And Bumrah has sensed that. 

He’s been lucky to get some wickets intermittently during this period which has kept him in the side. He definitely needs to be dropped.
