Prasidh does not look to be in his best form. - Harshit has beaten Prasidh , even Siraj , Akashdeep and is the no 2 bowler in our line up after BOOM. I could not see Siraj's bowling today. by chance if Harshit is not played in the 11 due to any specific issue's , our chance of winning will be very much reduced. Harshit and BOOM are match winning bowlers and also expect SIRAJ to do some harm to Australian batting line up. i guess these 3 are a good combo and they wont pick a 4th genuine pacer as Nitish is also bowling accurately. washi is bowled before jaddu and even in batting washi was sent before jaddu indicates that washi will be played ( ash did not play the practice game indicates he wont play) Jurel did not play today's match means he wont play test match 2 rishabh was taking rest and will play. jurel and padikal will be replaced by Gill and Rohit, Harshit has shown his full range of skills. His go to length is obviously slightly back of length, but has shown the ability to pitch the ball up and give it a chance to hit the wickets. Adding to that the slower one which got Carey was a good understanding that Harshit has confidence in his abilities and has the trick up on his sleeves. What he need to learn now is to setup the batters and not overdo the tricks.

I think he touched 150k only once. Also, his interviews in general were such a turn off. Kept talking about line and length as if he was ready with excuses for not bowling quick enough. Now unless he had some discomfort while bowling then that’s a different issue. Umran probably has a much better attitude towards pace but he’s not as naturally skilled as Mayank. But in pace he’s probably better. And fitness is such a huge question mark. He should probably forget tests and focus on LOIs exclusively for a year. And try bowling those limited overs with full intensity. There’s literally no excuse for not going full tilt if he’s playing such few matches. Mayank wasn't fully fit in my opinion. He was running gingerly and was just placing the ball instead of giving it a rip. Not sure what NCA were doing with him, but surely someone should have noticed these changes before declaring him fit for the international duty. Umran generates pace courtesy of his runup, if I remember correctly in the last IPL he played where he just bowled 1 over, there as well he was running slowly and wasn't bowling as quick. Unless his runup is not quick, he wont be able to generate much pace...mostly will oscillate in 138-145 category which may not work for a bowler of his release point.

Seeing that 2nd innings where Head was agressive against him..he did bowl some goo dshort pitch stuff to Aussies..but I feel he can get a bit tighter as well..he should target max 3 economy rate and not go for 4..that will improve is avg too and create more opportunities for him and team..basically need to control some length and width stuff he ends up giving.. Having said that..it was his first match in bouncy track..one gets carried away as well with all the agression,excitement..with more experience, maturity and mentorship from Boom..he should improve further..we want him to improve further..as he gives more penetration to our bowling attack.. I think even in that one over he bowled last ipl, he hit higher 140s by the 3/4th ball. Yes, a good run-up helps him but there’s a lot more related to the timing and final release in his case. And any help from the run-up would play a massive role in bowling quick efficiently. That would also help him in sustaining pace and reducing injuries. Most of the express bowlers had a fantastic run-up. Brett Lee, Shoaib Akhtar etc.

ODIs are being forced on him. If he was very serious about tests, his fitness might not have been a big impediment. Pattinson played 21 tests and might have played a lot more if Starc, Cummins and Hazlewood were not blocking spots. Fitness issues are normal for quick bowlers. Think after injury he lost some pace and at that time it looked like Aus had 4/5 bowler bowling 145 kmph.
Mosher Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Jaiswal gone for a duck first ball. Starc full and swinging delivery at the stumps 140.2. express bowling 1

singhvivek141 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 Starc is bowling quick...hitting early 140's....getting movement as well. Accuracy is down though. Cummins is still banging the deck at 135-138k at a good accuracy. express bowling 1
MK55 Posted December 6, 2024 Posted December 6, 2024 The short ball of Cummins is a little bit faster than his usual stock delivery. Bowled a couple of short balls both at 140. Mosher and singhvivek141 2

Typical Auzzie pitch, there is something if you bend the back and put effort. Side ways movement has reduced down, but bounce is still there. Still bit of wind so some help for the quicks.

express bowling Posted December 6, 2024 Author Posted December 6, 2024 Pink ball bounces a bit more if effort is put in.
