Sad to see but I will be happy if he remains injured for CT & IPL as well. Need him particularly for Tests.

Cummins has bowled more balls per innings than he has. these are not good signs. He may potentially retire as a test bowler in a couple of years at most.

Much of his int'l career did coincide with IPL era. Bumrah needs to aim for Ishant-like fitness. Not fitness in the sense of abs, pecs, etc. but just match fitness. And Ishant was not a slow bowler - could maintain decent speeds even until twilight of his career tweaker 1

Bumrah bowls at a quicker pace with virtually zero runup. It is hard on his body. Bumrah can prolong his career by trundking at 125-130kph...but he won't do that. express bowling 1

Bumrahs USP is his late release at a decent pace of 140ish...which often deceives the batters. At 130k he will be just another trundler like Unadkut...who will be treated like a dirt. Vijy 1

With Bumrah's action, physical conditioning is even more crucial than in the case of smooth actions like Jimmy Anderson (who was still bowling several balls at 135+ at 42). He must work on it more.
