mancalledsting Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 What a surprise- Day 1 on a green top, top order has taken the shine off the ball, rahane is well set and looking good and Dhoni is all at sea. Worked over by Stuart Broad and sussed out in a couple of deliveries. Bhuvi on the other hand looks assured, resolute. Bats with the temperament and almost the technique of a top order batsmen. Apart from his eventual dismissal, he blunted English attack on a gene top and helped covert a 160 all out job to a 250 plus score. No sarcasm- but I feel Bhuvi is a morse accomplished test batsmen than Dhonj or Jaddu- Should bat higher in the order. Whereas Dhoni often facilitates a lower order collapse, the bhuvster often arrests the lower order slide, inspires confidence to those around him and ensure india post competive totals. Can't help but thnk he'd add so much more than our current lot that bat above him in the order.
mancalledsting Posted July 18, 2014 Author Posted July 18, 2014 BoseDk poll public banana chahiye tha na  Sorry- I wasnt sure how to. Mods- could u please make this poll public? Thanks
SLICKR392 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Dhoni is NOT a test batsman. Nothing wrong in it, but he should just hang his boots.
renjith Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 comparing dhoni who has an away test average of 33+ with a tailender? hope you know dhoni is 5th or 6th in the all time wicket keeper batsman list.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 In the few innings he has played, Bhuvi has shown himself to be a better batsman than M$D. And I expect him to become even better as he plays more tests.
tweaker Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Bhuvi certainly looks more composed than Dhoni. When Dhoni comes we are not sure how many balls,he will last
Lord Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 comparing dhoni who has an away test average of 33+ with a tailender? hope you know dhoni is 5th or 6th in the all time wicket keeper batsman list. Dhoni played like a tailender today
asterix Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Dhoni played like a tailender today Even real Tailenders are showing more application than the Captain... Dhoni doesn't likes Test cricket but hes forced to hang in there for complete monopoly... He's not the one who'll quit one format to allow somebody else to lead... when he quits, he'll quit from all formats...
SLICKR392 Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 In the few innings he has played' date=' Bhuvi has shown himself to be a better batsman than M. And I expect him to become even better as he plays more tests.[/quote'] Hopefully gets us some wickets. His technique has quiet good against swing. Better than an opener like Uthappa.
BlueBee Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 0-18 to Bhuvi :bigboss: Bhuvi is better test bat in overseas, Dhoni is better in SC.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Hopefully gets us some wickets. His technique has quiet good against swing. Better than an opener like Uthappa. Yes. His bowling is also getting better - slowly though. While Kaptaan Kool is getting worse as a batsman and as Kaptaan.
Lord Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Hopefully gets us some wickets. His technique has quiet good against swing. Better than an opener like Uthappa. he'll get few 'lucky' wickets for sure :cantstop:
saneindian Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Dhoni's mentoring the batsmen yaar like the fab 4 mentored our young batsmen over the last 3-4 years (without vacating their spots)
Sachin=GOD Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Dhoni's mentoring the batsmen yaar like the fab 4 mentored our young batsmen over the last 3-4 years (without vacating their spots) There's a small difference - the fan 4 could bat. Dhoni can't.
undisputed chap Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 Even Shami is better test batsman overseas then dhoni
JourneyMan Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 He's batting better at the moment but I wouldn't necessarily move him. India haven't had a strong tail in a long time, it's good to see the opposition having to struggle for the last wickets.
