undisputed chap Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 He doesn't look fit & his speed has gone down. This is putting a lot of pressure on BK to get early wickets. Also he is not bowling the right lengths. Should he be rested & play Pandey who can pitch it fuller & move the ball a bit.

Nobody asked for him to be dropped. Clearly he is not performing to his.100% & bowling too short & legside. Even ishant is bowling better. Besides once rested he can comeback after a few tune ups to his line & length while bhuvi is rested for 4th test.

renjith Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 either he is not fit or his rhythm is completely off. definitely needs a break. dhoni has shown signs of coming out of his comfort zone by going with 5 batsmen only. so lets hope he will make some wise changes in bowling department come the 3rd test. pity if we plays the same 11 in all 5 tests after picking 18 members in squad.

maniac Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 I think shami is our best loi bowler....sorry Bhuvan fans but shami has got the extra yard of pace in a shorter format,so I think verdict is shami is a loi bowler,ishant only for tests and Bhuvi is our actual man for all formats(hopefully we use him only for important games).... Umesh for tests and Aaron for Odis Pankaj and Pandey-jury still out

Can't write them off completely. Aaron and umesh are the fastest bowlers currently in India....as we see umesh has a proven record in tests.....Aaron being injury prone is not my choice for tests but he can be in handy in Odis. Bhuvi has been a consistent workhorse. Ishant we have invested too much in him...brilliant on few occasions and average most days....need to draw the line when to dump him. Shami has had good performances across all formats but consistency is a problem....needs to buck up soon. Pankaj has been a domestic legend like vinay.....time to move on from vinay but need to give pankaj his shot as he deserves it. Pandey un impressive from what I have seen but once again earned his shot. Mohit is in always in the reckoning,another guy needs a longer run before we can write him off. Bumrah is the only guy who has shown potential to be taken a chance with. Apart from that no name on the horizon. Pk,r.p,Munaf,nehra are done time to erase them from our memories......sreeshanth is a reality tv star now,he doesn't even care which means he was wrong so f him. Pathans allrounder skills and age gives him may be one more shot but not too much hope there. Mithun,unadkat,bunny etc are obviously not good enough,below international class So for bow till a new name makes an impact it is better to groom and work with what we have

Your post is an average crap BK, Shami, Umesh, Aaron, Pandey, and Bumrah. This is the most talented fast bowling bunch we have ever had, IMO. All are young, can learn, and get better.

tweaker Posted July 19, 2014 Posted July 19, 2014 Shami Ishant,Binny & Jadeja should be rested & Aaron Pandey Pankaj,Ashwin should be given a chance in the 3 test.If they are not good enough we can have a good mix of bowlers for the 4 & 5 test
