yes exactly. deal with it on the field. he calls you a C, tell him to F off. fight fire with fire. at the end of the day what has come out of this is that jimmy is a cnut, dhoni is a cnut, bcci are cnutss and ecb are cnuts. what a sorry episode, now it is closed everyone needs to move on.

Icc punished another player for abusing but if Anderson abuses an Indian thats all fine. Give it back?And then cope with a ICC ban or fine?
Learn to sledge then like Johnson who covers his mouth when he abuses. Lol. Unless you have proof don't stand there listening to abuse. Give it back or atleast talk with your bat or ball. Tendulkar, dravid, kumble have all had their share abuses. They replied in the right way.

Let us stop acting like victims. Regardless of outcome BCCI is still powerful. Not sure what they can do about it. We cannot possibly say we will quit the tour if Andu is not penalized like we did with Bucknor.

best thing would have been for dhoni to grow a pair and give anderson a clip round the ears with his special bat. icc would then suspend dhoni for 10 tests, anderson looks like a cnut, and indian fans can look forward to a fresh new era :winky:

The basic problem is that the lack of a judgement sets a very very bad precendent.

During the hearing, Anderson confessed to pushing and abusing Jadeja but insisted that the physical contact was an instinctive reaction, a move in self-defence as the Indian all-rounder had moved aggressively towards him.
Any player can now say (on or off the pitch) that if another player approaches them aggressively then physically react by pushing them/putting their hands on them and verbally abusing them all in self defense. We see players moving "aggressively" towards other players all the time. Whether it's running between wickets, batsmen approaching bowlers and so on, then any player can push them and react physically and say "it was self defense." What's even more ridiculous is that the judgement panel said that no personal offensive language/abuse should be used but then refused to punish Anderson who again confessed to abusing Jadeja even though Jadeja didn't say anything to them. It's no secret but the standard is clearly set. The ICC can issue recommendations all they want but they never really enforce anything on these matters.

The real question is - if it was someone else instead of Jadeja, say Stuart Binny or Wriddhiman Saha for example, would MSD have reacted the same way? On a lighter note, instead of whinging to the ICC, Dhoni and BCCI should invite England to an ODI game in Ranchi on their next Indian tour, and Anderson can be a special overnight "guest" at Dhoni's Haveli.

I dont think they laid charges for just abuse even for Jaddu.Abusing/Sledging happens all the time. Pushing and threatening are different things though

ECB wanted to settle it with an apology which is what Farook Enginner feels should have been done. Dhoni wanted to troll them and ended up getting trolled due to lack of evidence. This English side is a softie side overall. So i consider it as an insult that we just took the crap they threw at us without any retaliation. Atleast after winning 2nd test they should have done something. Would have been sweet. I still savor the moment when Prasad said eff off to Sohail after he got dismissed.
