IF they have to make GG the captain then they must also identify the future captain (it will in all probability be Pujara or Kohli) and groom him. GG at the age of 33 can't be a long term arrangement.

GG can be captain for 2 years at least if he can score runs. Dravid also became captain at 32-33. You cannot have a non-performing batsman captain.

Thing about Gambhir is' date=' he is a gritty customer in the Ganguly mode. So IMO, not only can he come back to form despite his technical faults but might do well as a captain too. It is not that bard to be more logical than dhoni. Even the most conservative approach will be better than stubborn and random approach

Once dhoni goes, things will improve. Until then, india will suffer. Instead of crashing and burning at world cup, start now. Relieve dhoni of test captaincy, let him focus on WC. Keep those two formats separate
