peterparker Posted August 9, 2014 Posted August 9, 2014 152 in first innings' date=' you arent going to win from there.[/quote'] oh come on, bowlers must take 10 wickets, it is same pitch, the pitch is good for batting only on the 3rd day. Indian bowlers don't bowl in the right areas, and don't look to take wickets. None of the indian bowlers draw the batsman forward, they always feed them deliveries so that they can go to the back foot, and can defense, giving them extra time.

No. Pitch completely changed when England batted ss sun came out, still we had them 170/6, credit to bowlers and then we fed two spinners to new batsmen till they got set. Though First two sessions were tough but there is no excuse for 2nd innings. No swing, no seam, still cant stay a session.
Sooda Posted August 10, 2014 Posted August 10, 2014 Kohlis problem is mental. He was good in SA not playing at the kind of balls he is getting out to now. Needs to tteach himself the discipline of not dabbling outside off stump. With 5 tests so tightly packed there is no time to take a break and think about where things are going wrong. Should have been 4 test series in the same time frame
vijay50 Posted August 15, 2014 Author Posted August 15, 2014 Pujara, that was atrocious. Dont become another Manjrekar.Kohli BC make 30 runs atleast. MC.
Raghav_12 Posted August 15, 2014 Posted August 15, 2014 Pujara' date=' that was atrocious. Dont become another Manjrekar.Kohli BC make 30 runs atleast. MC.[/quote'] Very apt comparison. Pujara is becoming another Manjrekar.
vijay50 Posted December 8, 2014 Author Posted December 8, 2014 Will the future Dravid and Tendulkar make 50 atleast in few innings of this long tour?
Austin 3:!6 Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 There will never be another Tendulkar. Period
putrevus Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 common that is very harsh, what did Dravid do in 1999 tour, , give these guys a chance, Kohli is already a ATG odi player, give him chance. Pujara I am concerned as he does not play any other format and playing only tests is very hard as there are so few side matches to get used to conditions.
Pagalpanti Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 We forget that these guys are on their 1st tour and tbh they have done admirably well in some parts. They will only get better, we just need to be patient with them.

putrevus Posted December 8, 2014 Posted December 8, 2014 He's signed a county deal' date=' hasn't he?[/quote'] who
putrevus Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 Chepu.. I thought he just played out last part of county season, if signed to play again next year I dont know about it.

They will only get better, we just need to be patient with them. Dravid had toured successful tours in Eng, SA and WI before he failed in Aus in 1999. Pujara had an ok SA tour and 2 horrible tours in NZ and Eng. Now in Aus he is low on confidence. No more first tour excuse for these guys..

coffee_rules Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 ok south africa tour ? My bad - great tour 25, 153, 70, 30 odd...My point being he is not under the first tour shadow after 4 overseas tours.
Old guy Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 My bad - great tour 25' date=' 153, 70, 30 odd...My point being he is not under the first tour shadow after 4 overseas tours.[/quote'] if he does well here then it will be did well in 2 of his first 4...all will sound better and truth is in new zealand he batted in toughest conditions yes no big score came but i did not see big problem in failing in just 2 match series it happens lets keep in mind there is no senior batsman in team to even guide them was this case with dravid ? these are literally alien conditions for most of them and very fact many of them are doing well here and there shows there is potential and future is not as bleak as it looks . batting at number 3 first time in new country with one opener being walking wicket with no senior player is not as easy as it sounds and even in england he did well in lords i know its nothing special but he survived toughest part of match but problem was never kicked on and lost wickets after getting starts ...yes if he was getting out for ducks and looking totally out of sorts i can understand but he clearly got starts and got through toughest part of inning against new ball . and kohli was brilliant in both series before england lets be honest he lost form much before test series after world t20 and even now in odis does not looks the same ..i am not making excuses but i think we need to understand these back to back away tours against some good bowling line ups without nay home match in between and witout any senior batsman in team was always going to be struggle and i was surprsed we did well in south africa and new zealand and rahane did well everywhere (dont be surprised if he fails here it happens ) ..i jsut hope they grow and improve as batsman and not get destroyed ...maybe england taught them lesson...i guess wel will learn tomorrow :P
Old guy Posted December 9, 2014 Posted December 9, 2014 also you have to understand 4 away tours all happened in different countries with different conditions and challenges its still his first australian tour ...yes its 4th away tour but conditions are still alien to most of them and touring england does not really prepare you for australia...all i hope is this time they show improvement during the tour rather than just losing all confidence
