You have zero understanding of mental diseases. And lots of poor people do commit suicides, except they don;t have the luxury to go to a psychiatrist and be diagnosed before they do it I hate people like these who tar victims of depression as weak. This is the reason why depressed people do not get support, as they are surrounded by such ignorant people asking them to man up

Within minutes we were telling one another he was gone. His genius, that had burned so hot, was cold, and the whole country felt the chill at once. For years, we had watched with awe as a Niagara of wit poured from his unconscious. Where did that manic waterfall of funny have its source? And where did his fearlessness come from? The night that he and Jane Fonda and I hosted the Academy Awards show together, he kept coming up with outrageous jokes in the wings. But before he went out on stage, he seemed to be using me as his taste monitor. He would think of a line and say, “Is that too tasteless?†Invariably, I’d say, “Yes, it’s too tasteless,†and invariably he’d go on stage, say the line and kill with it. Unfortunately, sometimes the mind that runs so fast it can’t keep up with itself also has its down time. I didn’t know he suffered from depression, although it doesn’t surprise me. But it makes me want to do something. I hope it makes us all want to do something. While the whole country, and much of the world, feels this moment of sadness at his death, can we turn the loss of this artist we loved so much into something that pushes back against the ravages of despair? Can we educate one another to recognize the early signs of depression? Can we make it clear to one another how dangerous it is? We all know now that drunk driving kills. But, when I looked up the numbers, I was astonished. Each year there are more than twice as many suicides attributed to depression as deaths on the road due to alcohol. Maybe our grief can be transformed into an awakening. The man who enriched our lives could be the focus of saving countless other lives. Robin Williams could be with us a little longer.

You've never held your best friend's head in your lap, and watch him gasp his last breath looking to you for help. I'd ask you about love, you'd probably quote me a sonnet. But you've never looked at a woman and been totally vulnerable. Known someone that could level you with her eyes, feeling like God put an angel on Earth just for you. Who could rescue you from the depths of Hell. And you wouldn't know what it's like to be her angel, to have that love for her, be there forever, through anything, through cancer. And you wouldn't know about sleeping sittin' up in the hospital room for two months, holding her hand, because the doctors could see in your eyes that the terms "visiting hours" don't apply to you. You don't know about real loss, 'cause that only occurs when you've loved something more than you love yourself. And I doubt you've ever dared to love anybody that much. I look at you. I don't see an intelligent, confident man. I see a cocky, scared shitless kid. But you're a genius, Will. No one denies that. No one could possibly understand the depths of you. But you presume to know everything about me because you saw a painting of mine. You ripped my ****in' life apart. You're an orphan, right? Do you think I'd know the first thing about how hard your life has been, how you feel, who you are, 'cause I read Oliver Twist? Does that encapsulate you? Personally, I don't give a **** about all that, because you know what, I can't learn anything from you I can't read in some ****in' book. Unless you want to talk about you, who you are. Then I'm fascinated. I'm in. But you don't wanna do that, do you, sport? You're terrified of what you might say. Your move, chief."

Money and fame is not everything. You are in no position to judge because you don't know what that person might have gone through. He had an open heart surgery, suffered from depression, anxiety, alcohol and drug addiction and Parkinson's disease. That's a lot for any person to handle.

Have zero sympathy for ignorant people who cannot spend 2 minutes doing research or even a Google search on depression and it's impact. No wonder, with such ignorant people India is a hotbed of suicides. Who asked for sympathy of ignorant people spewing venom on the internet whenever someone dies to make themselves feel better? The worst excuse in the world to defame a dead man has to be ignorance. Particularly in today's day and age when thee same person is connected to the internet to post this Next what, have zero sympathy for a cripple who cannot walk without crutches? Have zero sympathy for a mentally handicapped person who cannot do maths? Have zero sympathy for a paralyzed person for not running? That is how ignorant and stupid your statement is. Sounds like a middle age witch hunt statement in today's day and age Just goes to show, you might have all the knowledge in the world in your finger tips but if someone wants to remain ignorant, there is simply no cure for that I think this poster has said similar things in previous such threads and then disappeared

How ironic that he would die the same way that Niel did in this movie. I cried when Neil died in the movie, but it was just a movie. This. This is real pain. This is real suffering that he went through. Poetry is there for us when we need to get something off our chests. Poetry is there for us when we need to hear something that needs to be said. Poetry is there for our mind's curiosity. But even though poetry is always there, we still need human contact. We need the emotions that let us understand poetry. We need the relationships that help us feel these emotions. And in order to have these relationships, we need to offer our attention to others so that they may do the same for us. Robin Williams had so many people there for him, but isn't it ironic that despite having the entire country as an audience, hardly anybody had an idea he was even depressed until today. Monday August 11, 2014. The day he killed himself. The day his verse ended. There should be no good reason to kill yourself. Ever. But in order to receive the attention that you cave so much, you must first give yourself that kind of attention. Go out, meet new people. Let others in just enough so that you know you have people who will miss you. Break a few rules, but don't go overboard. LIVE your LIFE. Carpe Diem-Sieze the day. Because you have an identity, and your verse just adds more beauty to a play that already has enough tragedy.

Have empathy, which is only possible when you step in to his shoes, live his life...Since you can't do that, it is better to let it go than writing an idiotic comment.
