can an Indian player who earns a lot through endorsements, much more than IPL salary say that he doesnt want to take part in the IPL and instead participate in the county leagues and improve his technique? or are all Indian players, should compulsively participate in the IPL because of they are Indians? Its not the question of whether someone like kohli do it or not. or how BCCI will conspire to destroy his career and all that. iam asking can he do it? is it legally permissible? because sometime ago a BCCI official said they have no problem with county cricket, its the other T20 leagues that indian players are not allowed to. thats why i got this doubt.

Yes, he can withdraw his name from the auctions if he is not under contract. If he is under contract, he can ask his team to release him or wait for the contract to be over

Legally possible. But then a guy like Kohli makes a lot in IPL. And I would think a lot of his endorsement and brand sponsors would not be too pleased if he didn't play in IPL.

Exactly. IPL Is the ultimate test of strength, character, concentration and skill for any cricketer. In any case, the more days of cricket Kohli and Pujara play in England, the worse they become, as evidenced the recently concluded test series. And some Indian fans want these guys to go play multiple days of county cricket. Really wonder whether these "Indian" fans are actually Englishmen in disguise!

Why do leg byes exist ? When the ball hits a batsman's pads or body that would imply the batsman didn't play that ball well enough. That should be a win for the bowler. Why are the runs counted towards the batting team ?

They all expect their players to be available for the country before taking part in IPL. The BCCI does not like this. So the BCCI completely disallows its players from taking part in any T20 tournaments in other countries. BCCI is boss. It can do what it wants.

Shivlal Yadav is "interim" BCCI president. For all practical purposes, Srini is still the big boss around.

I do not have any other logical explanation than this because if ball hits the pad in front of the stumps, batsmen can be given out, so batsmen are also given freedom to take runs when it hits the pad and he is not out.

Batsmen have a bat in hand to hit the ball. If he misses the ball and it hits the pads, no runs, it should be as simple as that.
