vvvslaxman Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 we are maintaining confidence. The way i see it, we say look Virat ur back at 3 v WI. That to me is backing. Virat was still evolving then as a test batter. Now he has come a long way since.. It will upset the balance completely. He is our ace no.3 who would build and attack later. In one dayers all he has to do is see off couple of overs. There won't be wide gullies, 3rd or 4th slip. he will quickly find himself in his elements.

Just want whats best for him. At the end of the day this is just a meaningless Odi series. So i guess we can take it on board.

It was not just form, but there was a technical glitch they exploited. In one dayers you can get away with that. If he goes out, you shift the entire batting order and everyone will have different role and totall thing will be messed up with just 1 year to go. Some of the guys have not established themselves.
Austin 3:!6 Posted August 27, 2014 Posted August 27, 2014 Win means no changes for next game as per Dhoni Rules :two_thumbs_up: As if MS changes the team even if we lose :giggle: Always remember win is insignificant as long as the process is done correctly :agree:
ThePhenomenal1 Posted August 27, 2014 Author Posted August 27, 2014 Virat is the number 3. better he slumps now than at the wc. we need a good bounce back and better he gets back quickly. i would put rahane to open and maybe have rohit at 4. Rahane can get a 50 quicker and put less pressure on dhawan. rohit can come at 4, settle in. Raina at 5.
Midfielder Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Karan. raydu and yadav need to play. Kohli out, Kumar rest and Aswin rest.
Cricket_Hacker Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Same team. Would have brought in Yadav for Bhuvi but he bowled well
vvvslaxman Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Karn sharma's inclusion in place of Ashwin would be a nice addition.
undisputed chap Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I would like to have Samson in at no.3 just to see what he can do & rest both Bk & Kohli & send them back to India. Kohli will return to side for odis vs the windies. Ideally yadav shouldnt even be in the odi squad becoz as far as WC is concerned Bk, Shami & Aaron would be our bowlers with Mohit as back up. But I guess he could be given a game somewhere down the line.
zakk Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 As if MS changes the team even if we lose :giggle: Always remember win is insignificant as long as the process is done correctly :agree: so repeat yesterdays process for next match too don't think Bhuvi will get rest after 2 days rest :winky:
tweaker Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 I dont think Dhoni will make any changes in the playing xi for the rest of the series. He will certainly not play Samson,Yadav
zakk Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 He should try Karn Sharma . yeah he has done well in practice match :two_thumbs_up: but I think he also will be kept away from playing 11 like every new player when he gets selected in 15 or 16 :giggle:
BlueBee Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Karn for Ashwin. Samson for Dhawan. Rahane open.
undisputed chap Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Dhawan- Need to take a decision on him Rohit - Better rotation of strike needed. Kohli - Rest him till WI odis. Play Samson for remaining odis. Rahane- What's with the tame dismissals ? Raina- Needs to keep improving. Dhoni- Needs to be more aggressive with the bat & on the field. Jaddu- Need consistency Ashwin- Not good enough in overseas conditions . Karn could be given a go. Bk- More wkts early on Shami - Economy is also important along with the wkts . Mohit- Not good enough. Need Aaron.

moniker Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 Great win, match winner Raina came though today and what a knock it was. Some changes that should be made and why: Rahane for Dhawan/Rohit - is dhawan getting out due to pressure coming from rohit's maiden's? If he is, move rohit to 4 or tell him to hurry up or drop dhawan. India were too slow at the start and lost 2 wickets. Rahane can rotate strike and had a 100+ stand with dhawan in asia cup. Rahane better suited to open IMO. Rayudu should get a game - gritty player, better strike rate than rohit. Mohit sharma bowled well but would consider playing Kulkarni/Yadav. Need some extra pace i think. Other than that, a good effort and a good win by a great margin. Any changes you would make? Rayudu's strike rate is 66. Rohit's is 78. Rahane opening and Rohit playing in the middle order would make for a better balance IMO.
sourab10forever Posted August 28, 2014 Posted August 28, 2014 What about trying rahane rohit.....its high time we get a proper 100+ run opening stand.
