Great win, match winner Raina came though today and what a knock it was. Some changes that should be made and why: Rahane for Dhawan/Rohit - is dhawan getting out due to pressure coming from rohit's maiden's? If he is, move rohit to 4 or tell him to hurry up or drop dhawan. India were too slow at the start and lost 2 wickets. Rahane can rotate strike and had a 100+ stand with dhawan in asia cup. Rahane better suited to open IMO. Rayudu should get a game - gritty player, better strike rate than rohit. Mohit sharma bowled well but would consider playing Kulkarni/Yadav. Need some extra pace i think. Other than that, a good effort and a good win by a great margin. Any changes you would make?

Sir Jaddu as a late order hitter is hit or miss. Missed lot of full tosses today. Can't really rely on him or Ashwin. If India loses Raina/Dhoni we are totally toasted in the end overs. Opposition can come back very quickly in the game Team like Lanka has good late order hitters.

I actually thought Rohit did OK today. Not great, but not drop-worthy innings either. I would give him another chance. Same with Dhawan - with rain in the air and ball swinging around, he is a sitting duck. But on good, true pitches and with the World Cup in mind, we will need someone like Dhawan in mind. And the Australian tracks should suit him (or I hope they do) Mohit Sharma bowled well, he will definitely play again and I have no issues with that. Umesh Yadav is likely to leak runs, he has no control. Play him in tests, not ODIs. I would stick with the same team.

Dhoni doesnt seem as effective a hitter as before,i hope he comes up the order, samson should be tried out at six,did well in Aus A tour in that position. As for Jaddu situation,he showed promise in NZ,we should keep faith

I highly doubt India will make any changes after a 143 run win. After a defeat it's always individuals letting the team down but after a win the team performance always makes up for any errors by individuals and poor performers are backed to do better next time. I agree with the old saying never change a winning team (unless you're Yorkshire and the ECB let you have the honour of picking your own player who just happens to have been playing for England for the last three months)

Absolutely pathetic. We need solid hitters down the order. NOt sure how they can shuffle this team around to get that extra edge. Almost all teams have such power.

I cant think of anyone who can do that job.Dont think Karan Sharma is better than Jaddu in terms of hitting. They can perhaps push Rahane to open drop Dhawan and play Dhoni at 4 and Samson at six The other option is to play 6 batsman + Dhoni, like in 2011 world cup.

Rayadu is crap.
Oddly enough he does worse in subcontinent but overseas he manages to grind it out and get boundaries often. worth trying him at 4, raina at 5. rohit/dhawan to open but no way will rohit be dropped :/ dunno, rahane at 4 doesn't feel right. scored a good 40 but you feel he'll get out any time for some reason. better suited as an opener.

have to see the pitch,if it assists spinners then same combo with yadav in place of mohit perhaps, else 4 pacers with yadav replacing ashwin.in batting i think we can give a chance to samson in place of dhawan maybe.want to see how the kid performs

Rest Kumar for whole series. Bring in Yadav, and Kulkarni for Mohit. Also if it weren't for England then also drop Jadeja and try ideally Rishi Dhawan, or else go with that selector's son.

The big question is What to do with the fragile Indian top order? Do we drop Virat? or rest him so he can regroup? I say yes. Rohit Dhawan Rahane Rayadu Raina MSD Ashwin Sir Bhuvi Mohit Shami I am also not sold on Ashwin and Jadeja the batsman in these conditions. Let alone the concept of 2 spinners. But i guess will keep them for the next game. Not sold on Mohit either. I wont mind Umesh coming in Not sold on Rahane in the middle order either.

Its not under the bus. nobody is questioning Virat. He will be one of the first names down in WC 2015 team playing 11 for me. Its for his own good imo. Sometimes you need to take a step back to move forward. Some nice runs with his ranji side come October will do him good. May even want to seek a county deal.

It depends on how Kohli takes it. If he wants to play he should. It should not be like we drop him or sit him out. That sends a wrong message to him in the overall scheme of things. THis is not the first time in history a batsman goes through a massive slump. There are some guys who get occasional peaks, this guy gets occasional valleys. So it is vital we maintain confidence in him
