gattaca Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Planning to get it Beginning of next month....Apart from the increase in screen size, are there any other features to look forward to? From what I see,It is pretty much a video recording and Camera upgrade...are there any other striking features. Apple pay if want to use use your mobile for payment, calling over wifi saves minutes like republic wireless.

maniac Posted September 15, 2014 Posted September 15, 2014 Apple pay if want to use use your mobile for payment' date=' calling over wifi saves minutes like republic wireless.[/quote'] Not going to use Apple Pay...I bet a lot of people who are old school when it comes to finances(like me :--D)...Took me a while to pay my bills online ::embaressed_smile: As far as Screen Size goes,I have a S3 and believe me even if Apple had a reduced screen Size,I would have still abandoned Android ,That's how much I disliked Android compared to my old Iphone 3. Anyways just curious as say for Eg;Iphone 4 had the SIRI,Iphone 5 had a new charger of all things(:giggle:) with the customary Video/Camera upgrade that happens with every new version. So was wondering....Also the early rumors were about the better quality in inbuilt speakers and using the Iphone 6 as a projector with the PicoP technology but I guess apart from the screen size and the customary camera upgrade, don't see anything else online. Won't stop me from getting one though
velu Posted September 15, 2014 Author Posted September 15, 2014 nothing much changed in the smartphones in the last 2 or 3 years .. noticeable changes for me are fingerprint recognition and waterproof .. apple introduced touchid. sony came with IP67. samsung integrated both the features :phehehe:
Old guy Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 If samsung did this people would troll forever http://www.theverge.com/2014/9/16/6209759/apple-has-an-embarassing-bulge Keep in mind samsung lost case where they misquoted thinness of phone and did not include camera I think it was s2 ...now apple is. It only doing that but hiding it in photos intended to be advertisement .. Normally I do not defend samsung but this is hypocrisy at it's best
Old guy Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 One another I found in comments http://img.qz.com/2014/09/shiller_iphone_thickness_gif1.gif

But a megaflop.
Ram Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 The more Apple makes these Product Announcements sound like the 2nd coming of Jesus, the less i am inclined to purchase their products. The undeserved hype their product launches get is truly a turn off.
velu Posted September 16, 2014 Author Posted September 16, 2014 iPhones are hyped a bit , but apple always backs it up with more than decent product .. also apple has given many ground breaking products which helps them to sell their products .. one of the reason people dont mind buying iPhones is its low rate of depreciation in value..

They do have a good os better than what current market offers. They don't discount their products but their phones which are released 2 years ago lag a lot on new IOS these models have depreciation.
gattaca Posted September 16, 2014 Posted September 16, 2014 http://www.torontosun.com/2014/09/13/apple-iphone-6-error-misplaces-canadian-cities Apple iPhone 6 map error misplaces Canadian cities CEO Tim Cook quickly apologized for those problems at the time and took the unusual step of recommending rival services. :cantstop: this is like a repeat. I dont know why they say unusual I thought it was usual.

Honestly i don't intend to return. it.. Frankly it is piontless to worry about depreciation in a phone that was worth 200$ to begin with. It is not like Ford Mustang for heavensake :cantstop:

Future is all unlocked phones people will not use contracts their are more benefits getting services like cricket.

Ofcourse if you are going to plan to sell Apple will retain better value. wow.. I remember losing 2 or 3 cell phones early 2000s and buying new one for 35 $ lol. Now we are talking about resale values of phones. Dramatic transformation. If we draw a parallel with laptop markets, despite Apple having a better resale value it still could not capture windows market. Their loyal fans will keep it going forever. I don't think Velu will stop buying iphone if the depreciation value is low :cantstop:

I have moved away from apple eco system using windows phone. Yea it is different. it takes a while to get used to it. But it is not that hard. Unless our IQ level is below 80 you should be able to handle pretty much any goddamn phone in this world.

Apple does small changes but they do it to perfection they were never a innovative company.

Apple does small changes but they do it to perfection they were never a innovative company. Samsung is not just android and since last 2 years I have seen quicker performance on android Just use any htc, sony, nexus or even lg flagship in last 2 years and now you have stock android at low nd which does not lags Moto g,moto e and now android one phones Ios7 lags I do not know how it behaved before it it looked smooth whenever I used it but my major use has been after ios 7 and it lags, crashes just like any other thing ...should I share my crash report here ?it will prove that safari still crashes 10 times every day

Those are misconceptions ll.all os are same to use but difference is one gives you options which people confuse with being complicated...what people do it get is you do not have to use any of it and hey are out of way ...you can use any platform like ios that is launching apps from icons
