This team atleast is definitely better than Abhimanyu Mithun, Vinnie Kumar and Ashok Dinda.

If he does well we will have an replacement for BK so that he doesn't have to play in all the games. Besides he has done very well on A tours.

Of course 5ft 2 geeks on icf will identify with him and love him. Bowls 80 to 82 at start of spell, no doubt will after a few overs be in sub 80 range. Umesh dropped from despite not playing a single match. Every slow pace bowler is a McGrath in India.

This is list A performance. Umesh Yadav Matches. 60 Avg. 38.67 Economy. 5.75 Mohit Matches 26 Avg. 33.69 Economy 4.55 . These are list A records. It includes both domestic 50 overs + odis. Ofcourse Mohit is mo mcgrath ( but no indian bowler is) but he outperforms umesh in domestic 50 overs as well.

Our best bet is to pick bowlers with pace and back them.

The people defending Yadav are probably the same who were defending Tendulkar when he was past his prime but wouldn't accept it. While Kulkarni is no great bowler, at least he has a formidable domestic record to call upon. Yadav doesn't have that either. It is not even close. You can bash Dhoni for several things but selecting the over-rated run giver Yadav is definitely not one of them. The guy goes at close to 6 RPO in all list A games FFS. Pathetic What about not picking him for tests?
