goose Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Why dont they speak out against extremists and those that cause terror around the world in the name of their religion? Where was ali's father and others then? it's arguments like this on twitter that give George Dobell et al reason to ridicule. what a ridiculous stance.
Detonator Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 True. Anderson(jadeja also got bood) gets booed just gets on with it. Yes comms moan that fans idiots to boo Anderson but that's it Moeen Ali gets bood. Then straight away out comes the victim mentality, even dad starts crying. O its cos paki, o its cos muslim. The world is against us, life so unfair, why everyone so horrible to us ps save palastine! Exaclty
King Tendulkar Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 And the whole theory falls very flat by moeen, his dad, pakis, anti india brigade and cricinfo. As bopara was bood who is indian origin and non muslim. So why was bopara bood? Racism against muslims, pakis etc etc. NO! So theory falls flat on face. The boooing may be stupid but that's it. Indian fans bood Anderson, Bopara, Moeen. All pantomime stuff in reality!
King Tendulkar Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 Plus jadeja got bood. This is clear racism.:hysterical:
goose Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I empathise with those that say it's just banter. But can you guarantee that a young white impressionable kid in England watching Moeen Ali being booed will understand the complex cultural dynamics in play? Or will he just think it's ok to boo bearded Muslims / Pakistanis?

But can you guarantee that a young white impressionable kid in England watching Moeen Ali being booed will understand the complex cultural dynamics in play? Or will he just think it's ok to boo bearded Muslims / Pakistanis? Not the paying indian fans job to worry about the stupidity a young white impressionable kid. This is exactly were the political correct, lets bend over and get shafted by muslims has got the world in. Everyone hyper sensitive as they will play islamaphobia card and jump up and down If that is basis then no one should ever boo at any sports event again! As a young kid find all kinds of silly reason why its happening
JaFanatic Posted September 10, 2014 Posted September 10, 2014 I empathise with those that say it's just banter. But can you guarantee that a young white impressionable kid in England watching Moeen Ali being booed will understand the complex cultural dynamics in play? Or will he just think it's ok to boo bearded Muslims / Pakistanis? Now what sort of a stupid logic is this? its simple he is not their fav plyr & they booed him. There is absolutely no rsn for them to not boo a plyr who is not even their fav playing agnst their favourite team

Or will he just think it's ok to boo bearded Muslims / Pakistanis? young white impressionable(lol) kid has a lot more things to worry about that this stupid stuff.....Even I would Boooooooo Ali not because of his religion or his cricket...but because I don't like his face DEAL WITH IT:finger:
goose Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 finally someone nails it. http://www.standard.co.uk/sport/dan-jones-society-has-gone-completely-mad-if-moeen-ali-booing-is-a-matter-of-police-interest-9726480.html
Sooda Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Its fair to say Moeen has always maintained he isnt bothered by it and accepted it, its the commentators and media making a real issue of it
Sooda Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 The boos for Moeen have to be because of his Pakistani background, nothing to do with religion. Also nothing as nuanced as because he asked the Asian Brits to support England. Sajid Mahmood was booed playing against Pakistan because he was viewed at as a 'gaddar' the same way Bopara was booed.
goose Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 Agreed. Astonished to see huge swathes of the UK press get this so wrong. The above Standard article is being destroyed on Twitter as i type.
Sooda Posted September 11, 2014 Posted September 11, 2014 ^They get it wrong because as you put it they dont the 'complex cultural dynamics at play'. Naturally Moeen does get it , he said the booing is becacuse if Pak heritage, never said it was because of his religion. Moeen was also right to call upon British Asians to support England.

IN CT final I was among the crowd booing Bopara. Not because Gaddar mentality But simply because he was turning the game upside down by his individual performance. i thought we(crowd) must target him. Gaddar and all terms were just used to make Bopara loose his mind. It worked in that game :two_thumbs_up:

So even if few disillusioned Asian child start supporting England, soon its English fans themselves will put him in his place.
undisputed chap Posted September 12, 2014 Posted September 12, 2014 Do white impressionable kids get influenced by booing on cricket field & not the things going on in the world right now.
