Can someone tell me how Dhoni's actions were different from a politician misusing his powers to break rules for his ego? There is a reason Sachin, Dravid Laxman were respected so much and a good part of that had also to do with their off field behavior. Power and fan following can go into one's head so easily

Whole Kolkata will bend rules for Ganguly. Heck they even rooted against India, Groundsmen prepared a track to suit South Africa. Others cannot be expected to be like them. Not allowing outside food is not snobbish. Not respecting rules and walking out when it is not allowed to be bent is snobbish.

Just because one hotel chain made exceptions for a VIP doesn't mean the other one should...I totally back the hotel management here as long as they were strictly following the rules with no other ulterior motive.

Most of them are away from home for a month, and i dont see anything wrong in eating home cooked meal. Anyways its loss of business for ITC and i dont think BCCI will book this hotel in future tournaments.

Its not about this particular incident only, its about opposing the BCCI. And no they are not just regular customers. Its shows poor business skills from that hotel management, if you are going to loose a big account for such a trivial issue.

I think ITC just lost a very big customer.Sporting teams while travelling ask for a lot of exceptions which are done by the hotels.English team had its special demands during ashes in aus last season.Warne in 1998 flew in from OZ packets of spaghetti and tins of baked beans and ate that only during the tour no one complained. Just read about the special requests that each of the 32 teams of the football world cup put in this year. Seems like the hotel overplayed their hand and didnt expect that all 180 rooms will be vacated.Poor business from them.

Just a customer dont book 180 rooms.And BCCI has been booking ITC for sometime now.IPL teams in Kolkata stay in ITC.Earlier it was Taj.So if you want such high profile guests plus such big business you have to provide for the demands.
