CSK Fan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Not a single indian accent too much white centric Indian accents sucks ass. Particularly when they are speaking a different language
Jersey #10 Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 Indian accents are weird as fvck to rest of the world. Honestly, Tamil and Telugu sound disgusting to me - I don't understand either of them. I am sure Gujarati and Hindi sound horrible to the outsiders too. I think South East Asian languages sound the worst. My favorite is probably French or Italian. German sounds alright too
Temujin Khaghan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 the coolness of an accent is directly proportional to the coolness factor of the culture
maniac Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 linguistically Italian and the Indian equivalent of it :--D Also love Russian,Spanish and Arabic/M.E accents I hate the New Jersey American accent though
Temujin Khaghan Posted September 20, 2014 Posted September 20, 2014 every Indian native language template - Punjabi, Delhi, Bengali, Telugu, Tamil, MAlayalam etc.. when used for English is disgusting.. I feel the *accent clarity* needs to hit a non-native english speaking youngster very early in his teenage. accent clarity acc. to me is when people stop using the native language as a template when they talk in English. At the same time, you should not consciously try to fake a foreign accent as it will obviously sound fake. I personally feel when Indians start doing it, their accents sound nice as well.

ANyway why is English a benchmark....a lot of educated people who speak the mentioned native language have decent neutralized English accents, much better than any foregin speaker speaking in a native Indian language.....I personally think Bengali,Malyalam, pure Telugu and U.P/Bihar Hindi are beautiful

Nah not just the Telugu part but in general...I think it is the Posers or people who put on fake accents make it worse....take someone like Freida Pinto or Salman khan speak English,it is embarassing. at the same time, you hear say for eg;likes of indira Nooyi,Satya Nadella or any other person who is at a pretty significant position, the accent is not that deplorable.

I am surprised at seeing so many Indians come out of this template trap.
vvvslaxman Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Among the Indian, my Hindi is okay. Rest of them are not as sweet . Italian is too much of a sing song language.. I like it.. but only after French.
vvvslaxman Posted September 21, 2014 Author Posted September 21, 2014 Even among English accent i like British accent. I like this dude's (Adhir Kalyan) English.
