Are we talking 30 based on cricket ability alone? Or should consider all factors that go into selections- a cricketer's experience with CSK, whether he is a former Ganguly boy, quality of his mom's cooking, if his bowling is slow enough not to damage Dhoni's fingers, whether he's had a fling with a teammate's wife, are his wicketkeeping skills poor enough not to threaten the place of the current keeper, does he play for a state that fully backs Srini, does he give full credit to Shastri for any 50 he scores, does he think process is more important than winning, etc?

What's the point of looking at 30? We surely have 11-12 spots that are filled in a squad of 15-16.. Batsmen: Dhawan, Rahane, Kohli, Rohit, Raina, Keeper : Dhoni All rounder: Jadeja Bowlers (Pace): Shami, Bhuvi, , . Bowlers (Spin): Mishra, Options for Open positions: Position 1 : Rayudu, Vijay, Uthappa Position 2,3,4, : Umesh, Ishant, Mohit, Aaron Position 5 : Ashwin, Kuldeep That should make the 15-men squad for the World Cup... Unfortunately, it is too late for Jadhav now... I really doubt he will get his ODI debut after this... Good talent gone waste. Hope they consider him at least for Tests..

Though, I am a big fan of Samson, trash statements like this piss me off. Dhoni is not a bad wicketkeeper by any standards, though not in the same class of Gilly or Mccullum. And he is the best ODI wicketkeeper-batsmen ever to have played for India.

btw is there anybody in this squad except Dhoni who played the 2007 World Cup in WI? Uthappa was part of that squad I guess... Even Raina wasn't a regular in the ODI squad then

Aaron is not a certainty... Looking at how the selectors have been backfilling for injuries, I really doubt if he is even in contention for a WC squad..
