There is a clear jealousy there because Dravid has scored tons of runs but no one cares as except for 1-2 they never were impact innings like SRT's or for the matter of fact even Ganguly' date=Laxman,Sehwag etc.

I wonder who was the guy batting at the other end when Laxman scored 281 in probably India's most remembered Test of the current century? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored the match-winning double hundred coming in to bat on the second ball of the first over that led us to victory in the final Test against Pak in Pak for our first ever series win there? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored two fifties in the final Test in WI in 2006 when no other Indian batsman got a single fifty, which resulted in us winning a Test series in WI for the first time in 35 years? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored a match-winning double hundred and followed it up with an unbeaten half-century to chase down a target and get India it's first Test win on Australian soil in 22 years? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who scored 148 & 81 in the final Test of his first tour of SA that almost led to an Indian win there (we fell two wickets short on the final day)? :hmmmm2: I wonder who was the guy who set up the Headingley Test in 2002 in extremely trying conditions that allowed subsequent batters to score heavily (when conditions eased out a bit) that resulted in India winning by an innings on foreign soil? :hmmmm2:

So when Dravid bats slow,its because hes always been like that and not selfish and if others do all hell break loose? It was clear Yuvi was finished.it was more lack of ability

It was about intent. He was showing front foot. He barely tried to hit out. Dravid would try to hit but cross 30 yards or could find the gap because his game was not meant for big shots. While Yuvraj even in the game Aus had played well.

I still remember this match Sri Lanka v India - Coca-Cola Cup (Sri Lanka) - 3rd match - 22 July 2001 Chasing a moderate total of 222, India lost initial wickets, but then thanks to Ganguly primarily, recovered. In the last 18 balls, they needed 22 runs with 3 wickets in hand. Thanks to some wierd batting by Dravid, we managed to score only 15 runs with no wickets lost. Dravid personally scored 4 runs off last 7 balls he faced and ended up being not out on 49 from 81 balls :haha: http://www.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine/match/66321.html There are many more I can dig out where India lost matches due to lost momentum on account of Dravid specials. But let's not go there.

Yeah those blunders as well. Still doesn't absolve the deadly choke during the match.

The thing about Ganguly was, when he struggled - he struggled big time. For example, the 1st ODI of the Australia tour of India in 2001. Tendulkar was basically going hammer & tongs until Laxman ran him out. The captain aggressive Ganguly scores 6 of 27balls. Despite that, India reach to 315 - thanks to Sehwag and Dahiya at the end. That ultimately proved to be too much for Australia because had the score been around 280s Australia were on track until Hayden/S Waugh were adjudged LBW on dodgy decisions. I can't find the video of the run out but found out the 4s/6s Tendulkar hit against McGrath - he even sledged him that game before hitting a six. McGrath bowled a ball and Tendulkar defended it back to McGrath. In typical bowler reaction, McGrath acted to throw the ball and Tendulkar outstretched his arm and said - I will hit it for a 6. Dravid was never a batsman you'd want to bat at the death - no two ways about it.

Dravid has been involved in some really good finishes as well. To set a target i.e. Anyhow, he was considered as a Test specialist unlike Ganguly.
