Dravid's squad is perfect. I'll add one more pacer for back up KL Rahul is the back up for opening Rohit Sharma is back up for the middle order Saha is the back up keeper Karn Sharma is the back up spinner Yadav, Pankaj (for lack of a better alternative) are the back pacers. Maybe Rishi Dhawan in place of Pankaj Starting XI: Vijay Dhawan Pujara Kohli Rahane Dhoni Ashwin Bhuvi Shami Aaron Ishant

rkt in Arnab mode:
Spinners usually get better with experience. He is too raw and inexperienced and it is not like he is next Warne. He is in the mold of Kumble, turns a bit more than him. He can still fine tune his game in FC.

Yes, he does, though not a very big turner but very accurate.

Karn Sharma and Ashwin and my first choice spinners for the squad... Ashwin gets the edge in the XI coz of his batting abilities, and can play the fifth bowler

imo we are likely to go in with just one specialist spinner in test playing 11 in Australia. I guess Ashwin will get in the playing 11. He is a certainty in the squad. As far as back up spinners are concerned there are so many to choose from.

Already posted above that he is too raw and inexperienced, ATM and it is not like he is next Warne. He is in the mold of Kumble, turns a bit more than him. He can still fine tune his game in FC.

if we are playing with 4 seamers then Ashwin gets in as 5th as he can bat too.

That's definitely not gone happen Bhuvi and Ishant are first choice for sure . Only selection will be BTW Shami or Aaron or Yadav for 3rd seamer spot .
bhuvi will be useless in australia, just cannon fodder for warner IMO

Our batting has collapsed in non familiar conditions. So they would select at least one bowler who can be relied more for runs and compared to other bowlers, and that gives Ashwin a huge advantage in making the playing 11. In Australia it is better to take just one specialist spinner imo in playing 11. Rest all bowlers in bowling attack should be pacers, especially in 7+4 combo.
