They could not lose the series as they had already won 2 games in the four-match series. After losing the first game, India came back to win three games on the trot to seal one of their most memorable moments in the game. The visitors had been thrashed 4-0 in the first game. The road to recovery was swift as they won the next three games 2-1, 1-0 and 3-1 respectively.

I cannot believe they won 3 in a row when no team was able to win one against Aus...where did this come from? This makes us the best team in world Hockey to beat Aus in Aus Amazing stuff. :omg:

Not sure how true though. about 5 main Aussie players were injured.However,11-12 Aussies featured in recent big tournaments.ALso Sardar Singh was rested in one of the games Those injured aussies will also miss next month's Champions Trophy

adi B Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 aus didnt play their best team,the same aus thrashed us for the whole year(forget a year,this whole decade!) but surely this is a good achievement considering this was at their den and they fielded some A team players. i remember india defeated nzl 3-1 in a 5 match series back in 2009,so down under conquered!!

Hockey IPL meant more money compared to before for Hockey players and more incentive to play. Hockey IPL meant Indian team slowly getting stronger and stronger. :nice:

India won Asian games gold, beat Australia in a series which is much bigger achievement I suppose. Good times for hockey. the results have been coming lately, not sure what has changed though.

jusarrived Posted November 15, 2014 Posted November 15, 2014 Did any of you follow the Johr Cup in KL last month ? u-19 tournament We beat Aus and Pak 6-0 and 6-1 . GB was the only team to give any fight . Won the tournament with such ease .
