Srinivasan,Raj Kundra named in IPL scandal report

you have to question the supreme court as well. Sometimes these judges think they are above the law. Common sense tells you that you have a highly corrosive media in India. Why would you go down this route? For once i would like to see the courts come down like a tonne of bricks on the media.

Bunny was named. Its just that names of cricketers were not disclosed and his name was inadvertantly revealed by the court.
http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/799669.html Binny was also cleared by the court
The three cricketers whose names were inadvertently taken by Justice TS Thakur in the 2013 IPL corruption case in the Supreme Court on Friday have, in fact, been cleared by the Mudgal committee. It has been confirmed by a reliable source close to the case that the three cricketers were not party to any wrong doing and that their names had been emphatically cleared by the committee report.
@mods: Please remove Binnys name

Judge expected media to behave responsibly. But they can't' date=' after all it is the same set of people as some of the posters here - over zealous future projections rather than facts.[/quote'] But weren't they not releasing names of players before deliberately ? What changed now ?

In the earlier report, the Mugdal committee did not have sufficient investigative powers. The names though cleared would have to go through additional scrutiny and hence might tar the players reputation. In the subsequent report, the Mugdal committee was given greater investigative powers and the names of these players are completely cleared aka clean chit. Therefore, there should be no problem in release of the names of these players. Oh and more thing
The report was presented in two parts - one of which featured players and the other which was made up of what Justice Thakur termed "non-playing actors in the drama." The names of three players was inadvertently taken by the judge before the court ordered their names be withheld. The four non-playing "actors" were however named and the court had decided to also provide them with a redacted version of the report, with the player names blacked out, in order to ensure that the four could defend themselves.

They released names "inadvertently" in a certain context. The mental gymnastics by our media including some of the posters here but that context as match fixing. The judge immediately asked the media to withhold it. Such mistakes happen but just because they happen it doesn't mean the media (and our schadenfraude posters) indulge in such far fetched non-existent theories. The job of the media is to report the facts and not give their Bejan Daruwala future predictions as current day facts.

i totally agree but its almost unbelievable that some one can twist clearing of names which court made very clear into news ...some one like me who is not following news will not know what actually happened ...thanks for explaining it :icflove:
