The Supreme Court has stuck to its decision to not allow the naming of players mentioned in the Mudgal Committee report. Its observation came up following an argument made by Cricket Association of Bihar (CAB) counsel Nalini Chidambaran asking for the names of the players mentioned in the report to be released. Chidambaram's argument was that without knowing the names of Individual No. 2 and Individual No. 3 mentioned in the Mudgal Committee final report, it would not be possible for an argument to be made in the case pertaining to the findings against Gurunath Meiyappan (Individual No. 1) and N Srinivasan (Individual No. 13). She asked for court to name the teams the individuals and said, "We would like to know who is the individual." The two judges, TS Thakur and FM Kalifullah, then went into discussion and returned to say they would not like to reveal the names of the individual players as it would go against their own order given on November 15. Chidambaram then said, "Assuming Individual No. 2 is Mr [MS] Dhoni," at which point one of the judges said, "assume and argue." Chidambaram then went on to say, "Supposing Individual No. 2 is a member of CSK then we have to know what were the findings about his dealing with Mr Meiyappan." At this point CA Sundaram, representing BCCI, said the board had asked for the names not to be revealed, "this is the kind of speculation we want to avoid." Justice Thakur said the names of the players would not be revealed but said that given the Mudgal Committee had reported about Individual No. 2 being "in regular touch" with Gurunath, the counsel could argue using that regular association. The judge also dismissed the appeal by the CAB lawyers protesting against Srinivasan attending the working committee meeting in his role as the TNCA president. He said, "you are trying to widen and open up the issue."

Isn't that the accusations made BT a TN police officer ? The same officer later found to be corrupt and accusations baseless. Has the court said anything apart from Star player 3 being in regular touch with Meyyapan?

As much as I hate Dhoni's captaincy.........I sincerely hope it is not him........our best ODI batsman........and the biggest sport star in the country ATM.........him being found guilty would be an unmitigated disaster for Indian cricket.........
I am with you ...but if he is then there should be no excuses and actions should be taken without exception

Police officer G. Sampath Kumar, who in a probe report had linked Indian cricket team captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni to match-fixing in the Indian Premier League, has been suspended over allegations of corruption. Crime Branch CID had booked the officer for allegedly collecting Rs 50 lakh from an IPL bookie to let him off a case. Police sources said Kumar may even be arrested. The former Tamil Nadu Superintendent of Police (internal security), who earlier in his report claimed that Dhoni reportedly was party to a deal with Chennai Super Kings team principal Gurunath Meiyappan and a bookie named Kitty, had told Headlines Today last week that Meiyappan had approached Dhoni and Raina on a bookie's insistence. "There were reported meetings between Vikram Aggarwal and Meiyappan. Vikram asked Meiyappan to talk to a few CSK players and Meiyappan approached Dhoni and Raina in a party," Sampath had told the channel in an interview.**
This is the only time Dhoni name was ever mentioned with regard to fixing and later found that accusations baseless and Sampath suspended for corruption charges So far neither the SC has ever mentioned the name of Dhoni or any cricketer for fixing with regard to mudgal report . So is there other reports for this repeated accusations in icf?

There is nothing in the report than we already know. The whole exercise seems to have been a waste of time. There is no match fixing unearthed by the report. Betting against Meyappan and Kundra already exposed by cops. Raina incident is BS. Move on people!

Are you the Supreme Court of India? If not then what you think doesnt matter. SC is on record today saying that "Srini being given a clean chit is only an assumption of BCCI".
