Yep some things are mor important than stupid cricket match and I hope they are not forced to play quickly and it does not matter if one match is cancelled if it means players are better mentally

No difference for remaining tests. The number of rest days between 1st and 2nd tests just 2 days. ICC conditions stipulate minimum 3 days it seems. Bad for India since no practice matches and back to back tests.

Ok right I didn't know that. Well hopefully then they can move both first and second test up 3-4 days. Boxing and new years are traditional ones that cannot be moved but there is 10 day gap before boxing. Players would wanna be home by 24th for Christmas Eve. But before that are rest days which can be compromised, maybe second test can finish on 21st. So that gives a 5 day delay from 16th finish. Touring party is massive, 19 players I think so it can be handelled with rotation. 2nd test: 17th-21st 1st test: 9th-13th 6 days after funeral.

There's a 10 day gap between 2nd and 3rd Test.They can adjust that

correct decision. the only problem i have with is.. dhoni would be ready for the 2nd test and would be able to play all 4 tests.. :((

They should just move the 1st test and 2nd test by 2 days.

^ not so simple people who have bought tickets for these dates will need refunds if they cannot make it on those dates. it will be chaos. Better they play this test as the 4th test

Seems like only the start date postponed not the entire test . They might postpone by couple of days and start on Saturday and adjust the dates of 2nd and 3rd test

well Philips funeral will take place on the 3rd. i doubt another day will be enough. I assume that funeral will be nationally broadcast etc.

I don't see other test dates changing, because that will mean more confusion and more head ache for CA to return/exchange/refund tickets for different days of other test matches. They will have to come up with the window for this test or cancel it. Boxing day test in Melbourne will keep it's date for sure since that's a historical test match and no one can change it's date and venue. They might delay the tri series by a day or two may be and put this gabba test right in the end, thus becoming the fourth test instead of first.
