Where did you get this idea of "many matches drawn or won by batting team" on fifth day pitch ? I am not talking about 360....just saying surviving last day is not a miracle now a days as it was few years back. This year only Pakistan chased 300 in 60 overs for loss of 5 wickets on last 2.5 sessions....

It was a batting track, they got the chance to bat first which is a big advantage on this track and made the most of it. India played equally well on third day. They set it up on the 4th day and India almost chased it down. Not sure how we were outplayed on all 4 days.

This chase being adventurous was due to a bold declaration by clarke and Lehman and off course the grit of two Indian batsmen. we didn't deserve to lose though after the fight back but see it this way,had we played full day on day 2 ,aus would have confortably won the match

I feel bad for Kohli who did all he could and probably would have gotten us home if even one other batsman had stayed with him. In the end he had to go for it himself seeing the implosion and paid the price.

Kohli in pc said that playing Karn was his personal decision as he was bowling beter than other two spinners in the nets.

Not sure how we were outplayed on all 4 days.[/quote'] We never bowled out the Aussies in a single innings - 12 wickets is all we managed, roughly we bowled them once and we got bowled out twice. And we were not outplayed? We were lucky to be given a small chance to win, and we made a good attempt.

Indian bowlers leaked runs like a sieve - Aaron at 6rpo and Shami at 5rpo in the first innings. This allowed the Aussies to force a game result inspite of losing a day to rain.

Exclude his injury riddeled years between 2008-2010. He never played consistently before that due to injuries and he averaged 20 last season. This was the first full season he played. So, they picked a bowler averaging 20 in FC. Talking about overall average is useless in case of him.

We didn't come close and needed them to declare twice we batted better than we bowled but they still had a lead of 73 so I don't see how we were not outplayed.
