Ok, I will feed the troll. Why do you think Kapil is not as good as Imran as a cricketer? Kapil as a bowler was potent even in '92 when he got 25 wkts in Aus. IK stopped bowling in the end was getting by Waqar, Wasim and spinners. KD was a better batsman even in the end of his career. Scored a 100 in PE, SA in 92 coming in at 27-5. Kapil has more impact innings while IK was a grafter as a batsman.
I dont know where this kapil ,Imran comparison is coming from really . this is from his cricinfo profile , written by a neutral. Imran Khan is indisputably the greatest cricketer to emerge from Pakistan, and arguably the world's second-best allrounder after Garry Sobers. He took a mediocre side and transformed them into world-beaters, leading them to the World Cup title in 1992 Few would dispute that Imran was the finest cricketer Pakistan has produced, or the biggest heartthrob. Suave, erudite and monstrously talented, he gave cricket in the subcontinent real sex appeal in the 1970s and 1980s. As such he and TV completed the popularisation of the game in his country which Hanif Mohammad and the radio had begun. Thousands, if not millions, who had never dreamt of bowling fast on heartless baked mud suddenly wanted to emulate Imran and his lithe bounding run, his leap and his reverse-swinging yorker. He also made himself into an allrounder worth a place for his batting alone, and captained Pakistan as well as anyone, rounding off his career with the 1992 World Cup. He played hardly any domestic cricket in Pakistan: instead he just flew in for home series from Worcestershire or Sussex, or rather from the more fashionable London salons. His averages (37 with the bat, 22 with the ball) put him at the top of the quartet of allrounders (Ian Botham, Richard Hadlee and Kapil Dev being the others) who dominated Test cricket in the 1980s. And whereas Botham declined steadily, Imran just got better and better: in his last 10 years of international cricket he played 51 Tests, averaging a sensational 50 with the bat and 19 with the ball. He gave no quarter during some memorable battles with West Indies - Pakistan drew three series with them at a time when everybody else was being bounced out of sight - and he led Pakistan to their first series victory in England in 1987, taking 10 for 77 with an imperious display in the decisive victory at Headingley. After retirement he remained a high-profile figure, with his marriage - and subsequent split with - the socialite Jemima Goldsmith and a move into the labyrinthine world of Pakistan politics. Kapil is respected in Pakistan for buing the nice , soft spoken man that he is but his comparison with the Niazi is not even close , nobody would rate him higher than Imran , it may be a sad reality but is true . Are you kidding me mate....First things first since when have you started watching cricket? Let me break it down to you Firstly this thread is not about Kapil vs Imran obviously....I just posted some things here to let people know that Imran Khan was jealous of the fact that a 24 year old Kapil had already accomplished something that defines an entire career i.e winning the world cup...circa 1983-1986 Kapil could do no wrong,he had the world at his feet. Now having said that APples to Apples Imran vs Kapil comparison is not way too off as you are making it out to be....Let me clear something here personally I rate Imran the "Test" cricketer much better than Kapil and overall Imran edges Kapil for me as well and this coming from a Kapil fan. Having said that...... This thread is about Imran khan the douchebag messiah. Now Yes Kapil had his own faults and that's a topic for another day. People are giving kudos to Imran the cricketer for some of his on-field accomplishments but that doesn't change the fact that he has had a condescending attitude towards India with his master race b.s-so yes I strongly hate him for that and so do many "INDIANS" that is enough for me to dislike him over some on-field accomplishments and go gaga over it. And I already made several other points to say why he is overrated by a generation of Pakis who are starved for an actual role-model. Again read the topic in the OP hope you have enough sense to put 2 and 2 together.
no Im from Delhi but in US for last 2.5 years for college. And im just going by stats. Didnt get to see either play but in international circles your hear more abt IK. Kapil has an average of 31 with bat and 30 with ball while IK has 38 with the bat and 22 with the ball and at a better SR. the gulf in stats seems too big to say Kapil paaji is ahead of IK And dont take it as me attacking him. Hes my dads fave ever cricketer and i like him too a lot

Pakistan's greatest cricketer , biggest humanitarian , supremely confident proud pathan , best looking cricketer ever , an absolute patriot , what's not to like , lol @ the personal attacks and bringing in his past , and to the bigots he fully supports Tyrian , why even bring uo the issue when you don't even know the details ??. I don't know why people get offended when someone says that Pakistanis are generally better looking or have fairer complexions than Indians or are superior bowlers , because i don't see how that is a lie .I guess Indian friends don't like him because he is very un indian as a person , he isn't meek , nerdy . He is the quintessential Pakistani , maybe that's where the hate comes from . Sanjay Manjrekar on interview said that he would like to be born again as Imran khan ,most world cricketers who have played with or against him are in awe of the great man . Also his views on Indian cricket should not offend you , lets be honest the Indian team he played against was pretty poor infact India have historically been a fairly ordinary side , he respects gavaskar who was a good cricketer at the time so if anything he is honest in his views , why be politically correct ??
BIGOTED is the only adjective appropriate. Typical paki stuff..fairer better Aryan race etc..lame f bigot.

superior 'race' whose lac soldiers surrender within a couple of weeks of war. In reality, are just people who were conquered and converted but are dumb enough to keep fighting with a country that represents culture and religion of their forefathers.

there is a certain gay-angle to IK's pakistani fans. I for one, never judged a cricketer based on his looks. 96WC was the first tournament i saw and i became a huge fan of Jayasurya after that. It did not occur to me that since SJ was dark, maybe he is inferior.

yes, its weird. the obsession gave them an afridi for 400 ODIs.

To Pakistanis Indians don't give a rats **** abt Imran or any paki politico..so basically we don't give a f'
care enough to create a thread and attack his personal life:haha:

yes it's obviously the gay angle , the fact that he is the second best all rounder of all time behind Gary sobers has nothing to do with it , homophobe much ??

Why are you getting worked up , not like any of it is a lie, it was just a reply to those abusing his pathan heritage , Pakistanis don't necessary consider themselves to be superior, it's just an observation , relax:cantstop:

Balaji was the most popular indian cricketer in Pakistan , doesn't mean he is a better cricketer than IK though , we are talking about one of the greatest cricketers ever to play the sport . PS: that excerpt is from his cricinfo profile , wasn't written by a Pakistani fan .

Never seen any guy fans talking about looks like pakistani fans do....about how fair and lovely their cricketers are compared to Indians. Here,it is the females who admire the looks of cricketers.

Please give us the names of the members who have mentioned the looks and confirm with quotations. None of us care about a player's looks, they are cricket players not models. As I said earlier Imran Khan was a cricket player for over 20 yrs of his life and a damn good one. The stats he possesses put him head and shoulder above the other 3 all rounders of that era. As a man, unless you're going to vote or not vote for him, does it matter much?

+1 Pakistani fan boys probably the most camp and vanity driven group of supporters eyeing up cricketers as candy and relating their looks to their ability, Imran Khan and Afridi two over rated are good examples :hysterical: As for Imran's non-cricketing life, I don't agree with the label of hypocrite, his past is his past, he has moved on to follow a more pious life and enter politics.

Your fellow pakistani poster in this page...and many others......no need to give names. Just like you cannot prove that NONE of you admire your cricketers for their looks. I don't have to go around giving you any names because you are not some "give me proof"policeman out here.WE have had many pakistani posters over the years coming here and talking about the good looks of their pathan cricketers. The thread is about what posters think about him...and that is what people are doing on a public forum....doesn't matter if we have to vote for him or not. Thank God we don't have to vote for him or think about that.We have enough of the questionable characters we have to think about.

If anything Imran is under rated. I didn't get to see him in his pomp, so didn't know much until I did the research. I was quite surprised when I saw the gulf between Imran and the other 3 all rounders of that time. People call it the greatest era for all rounders, it was great, but if everyone is honest, Imran is head and shoulders above the others. As a bowler alone Imran was colossal. Afridi is over rated, he is popular for his occasional big hitting, but real cricket fans know Afridi is a class A hack. Pollard is even worse than him, I didn't think I would ever say that.

Test cricket is overrated man. Afridi might be a dick but is a very good all rounder and a match winner.

I always wondered why is it that Afridi has such a huge fanbase compared to a great cricket player like Younis Khan?
dhoni is a nobody in test cricket yet the most popular player arguably test cricket is going to slowly become even more irrelevant with less n less people watching it
