Adulation or popularity is not necessarily a measure of a cricketer's ability. He's an ODI ATG, and I've no qualms in admitting that he's one of the top cricketers India has produced.

Anyone can become rich (you only need to win a lottery actually), you don't have to be the best. Those who paid Yuvi 13 crore last year realized that he was not worth the money and now threw him out. Dhoni is highly overpaid in relation to his abilities and worth. But Dhoni is rich because he knows big places...with a godfather like Srini it isn't all that difficult.

Time and again proves to be a boon in ODI cricket... Name one Indian wicket-keeper who has a 45+ ODI batting average won you so many ODIs from tough positions... On the other hand, a total mis-fit in tests... Hope this is his last series as player and captain

Well tbf to him. India didn't have a keeper who averaged 35+ in tests as well. People forget the likes of D Karthik, Parthiv used to fail in Indian conditions as well. His captaincy however is another issue.

But Dhoni is rich because he knows big places...with a godfather like Srini it isn't all that difficult.[/quote'] Lets see who is wrong...You give the example of Yuvi..Well he was paid 13 crore by Vijay Mallya and we all know what kind of mess he has been in the last few years...Mallya's fortune has deserted him and he has been making all kinds of wrong moves the last few years...Secondly yuvi was paid big bugs only for one year in the IPL before being dumped...But Dhoni is not rich only due to the IPL tag...He is the face of many brands and has been endorsing them for many years...Marketing and Brand Management is handled by the smartest people in the companies and they know best who has the pulling power or capability to influence by endorsement...Thats the reason Sachin was so highly sought after and Dhoni surpassed even him...
