Peshwar attack: Yes, it is one of the most brutal attack world has ever witnessed..But media coverage was exemplary, Modi calls sharif, appeals for two minute silence, media channels discusses over this issue for 3-4 days.. Assam attack - already 65 dead in the attack , media almost ignores this issue , limited to 5-10 minute news..National channels focus on election results and bharat ratna..Modi's one tweet and one statement..Almost as if no one really bothers about these death. Had it occurred in some city , even 5 people's death would have been news for a month! How inhuman are we as a nation? We only care on those issue that bothers us..If a rape happens in city, we demand accountability from our leaders..But where is the accountability of all these killings ? Nothing to do with the (in)humanity of Indians. Indian media (English media in particular) is a deracinated macaulized lot. They assign importance to those news items that would sell well on the international scene OR that are already making rounds in the international news sphere. Check the news tickers or homepages of news sites in December/January - a run of the mill snow storm in north eastern US will be bigger news than a train accident, mini riot, naxal attack or death of soldiers on the border. Rapes were covered because goras started covering it. Indians view India as an outsider would view it rather than a resident.

Times now is better in this regard among english media, thnx to arnab. And rest all English news channels' combined viewership could be less than arnabs viewership
sticky wicket Posted December 25, 2014 Posted December 25, 2014 One can blame tv coverage, but this is no prerequiste for state and central government to ensure safety of northeast region, for too long the epic moronery of Tarun Gogoi ( also the state home minister) has gone on with these annual terrorists attack! It is rather sad we can't garuntee peace on both west and east frontier, and even more sad we have weakling leaders like Omar abudallah and Tarun Gogoi in charge of such sensitive regions.

I am sure there will be some Pakistani notes in the militants' pockets and some sticker on their gun "Made in Pakistan"... These are bad terrorists who are against India and we need to eliminate them. Good terrorists that are not against India for now ( like freedom fighters TTP ) should not be our focus
