Its surprising that it does for an experienced player like kohli. Coz it only abt having perspective. One plays cricket to test himself in various conditions n do the best. Why let sledging affect you? But smtimes tht happens in the heat of the moment I guess.

He is a type of character who cant hold himself back when someone is sledging. Everyone is different and he should do whatever works for him. It also spices things up a bit. So I dont mind it.

Would we say and feel the same thing if Kohli was dismissed on 88...with us 200 behind and our fragile lineup to follow ? I would like it if sledging and quarelling while batting worked for him...but, the reality is that his batting totally fell apart for 15 or 20 minutes.

Although the Indian Premier League has helped mend relations between Australia and India after the infamous Sydney Test of 2008, Kohli gave a reminder of how volatile the relationship is. "I respect a few of them but if someone doesn't respect me I've got no reason to respect them. There were words in Adelaide," Kohli said. "I'm out here to play cricket not to earn anyone's respect. As long as I'm scoring runs I'm happy with it. If you like it, good, if you don't I'm not bothered. "I don't really care what they think as far as respecting me or me respecting them. I've got a nice friendship with a few of them ... but someone who is saying anything that comes to mouth I don't respect." Ryan Harris said Australia did respect Kohli and was disappointed what happened on the field did not stay on the field. "There's a bit of banter on the field but if that doesn't stay out there and comes up here, he needs to have a look at that," Harris said. He got out slogging after hitting fours and why wouldn't he slog given tails record and knowing Harris is gonna clean them up in a few balls tommorow? He got a few quick boundaries slogging too. Throwing his wicket away would have been the case if his partner was Ashwin and he got out doing what he did cause in that case he would have been playing for double 100. When Ashwin got out lead was 96 I think now it's 60. So slogging certainly worked we got really quick 30 runs and he did not throw his wicket away he was slogging as he should have been and got out. Now Aus lead will be 50 not 75. Harris is swinging it in and every ball is on the spot. He gets an over at tail tommorow that's that. Kohli was forced to go and got quick runs.

Where's the rule book that says leave the sledging on the pitch? This is a line quoted mostly by the Australians... to justify their sledging and make it look part of the game.

After years of timid behavior by our senior cricketers, it is wonderful to see our cricketers giving it back. I see no harm in a tough press conference. We have had enough of the mindgames by Australians. But the part I enjoyed most was Kohli and Rahane giving Johnson the spanking of his life in tests played in Australia. Only thing is ..please don't lose concentration while batting.

He needs to relax a bit and let his bat do most of the talking. It is easy to talk after you score a big hundred but every day won't be a Sunday. I don't like Kohli talking about it so much in the press conference. Keep it on the field. Maybe he could learn something from Ganguly here. He never used to hold back but he would not come and discuss that in the press conference.

I personally loved the fact that Kohli was aggressive. He might have given a chance after getting angry, but in general, he is a person who can actually use the anger and aggression to do better on the field Plus after last few years of meek surrender, it is great to see a player with some fire for a change

True. And on what did he get so angry ? Johnson did nothing wrong in throwing the ball at him, he was out of the crease and walked towards Johnson after playing the shot, so Johnson tried to run Virat out, the throw was well directed at stumps. Then Johnson even apologised. After getting hit he totally lost it for a while. Kohli is trying to create some melodrama for the big innings when there is none.
