rkt.india Posted January 7, 2015 Posted January 7, 2015 This same pace worked in England because of swing he got. On pitches like these, it was always going to be a struggle for him. We will be getting similar pitches in ODIs too but less overs to bowl so he might bowl with better energy. It was a poor move to play him this test when he was not really match fit.

Both the teams have bowled with similar pace....on the high side. None of the teams have got appreciable movement.( pacers ). What has demarcated the two teams are -- Accuracy of the pacers. Ours have been all over the place. Australians have been better. Harris and Hazelwood very accurate and others mediocre. -- Lower order batting. Australia has been superb. We have been bad. -- Strategy of predominant leg side field setting and "bouncer only overs" continuously by us.

When the ball is not moving, Bhuvi looks very ordinary. He is an economical bowler and not really a wicket taker if we consider his performances in entirety.

When the ball is not moving, Bhuvi looks very ordinary. Bhuvi is an economical bowler and not really a wicket taker if we consider his performances in entirety. I reckon he's gonna find it very difficult in ODI's if he doesn't take early wickets in these conditions. And I doubt he's gonna be economical in the middle or death overs at his pace in the ODI's. Even a guy like Harris was smashing him. Anyways he cant bowl in the death. So how can he be an automatic selection (not many will disagree) if he's only there to bowl some opening overs?

I would prefer him in conditions when the ball is moving around. Or when the other pacers are wicket taking but too expensive and we need a pacer who will control runs.
